From the game on, Karlie would greet Taylor every time they crossed ways. Sometimes it was nothing more than just a small smile from a couple of meters away, when they were sitting at different lunch tables or standing in different groups. Sometimes it was a quick "Hi" exchanged while walking past each other in different directions or when one of them was standing at their locker, while the other was heading somewhere else. Sometimes this simple greeting got followed by a little smalltalk, mostly in Chemistry, when they were sitting next to each other, or when they would stand at similar places, both waiting for something. And even though Taylor hated smalltalk, with Karlie the whole thing was surprisingly easy and enjoyable. Karlie was a good smalltalker. She always found something to talk about.

But the smalltalk wasn't Taylor's favourite type of greeting. Taylor's favourite and simultaneously the least common one, were the rare hugs they shared every now and then. Like that one time they met at the store when Karlie was trying to buy the ingredients for a cake she wanted to bake and Taylor was just picking up a bottle of orange juice, because Austin had emptied the last one without caring to refill their stock. Or that one time Cara, Jourdan, Gigi and Lily were heading to the cinema, taking Taylor with them and then they happened to watch the same movie as Karlie and her sisters.

Hugs were always followed by a little smalltalk. In the store they had talked about what they were buying and found out that both of them liked to bake. Taylor found out that Karlie absolutely loved chocolate chip cookies and mate a mental note to eventually bake some for the model if the timing ever seemed right. Taylor, on the other hand, confessed to Karlie her huge love for the TV show "Friends", while they were in front of the cinema talking about their favorite movies and TV series.

But there was one thing all of these ways of greeting had in common. Every one of them left Taylor with a wide smile on her face and a warm feeling in her body. Every encounter made Taylor's heart beat faster, her cheeks redden and suddenly she had the urge to shake her leg, some habit she had picked up a few years ago, without even noticing it. Every time they crossed paths, Taylor couldn't help but stare at Karlie and admire her undeniable beauty. She surely was perfect as a model. Taylor hadn't seen her actually do it yet, but she still did know. It was impossible that she wouldn't be. Let alone the way she walked through the schools halls was so graceful, Taylor could watch her for hours. At how her hair slightly waved in the wind, how her hips shook when she placed one foot in front of the other. How her arms moved along with her seemingly endless legs. But the best part about her was her bright smile. It went from one cheek to the other, lighting up everything around her. It made her eyes glow. Taylor couldn't help but also smile whenever she got to see it. It was just too beautiful.

It was even so beautiful, that Taylor could almost forget about the embarrassment that Cara managed to bring to her every time the Brit noticed that Taylor's eyes were watching Karlie. Cara could hardly be more secretive about the crush if she would hang up giant posters with the letters "TAYLOR SWIFT HAS A CRUSH ON KARLIE KLOSS" written on them. To be honest, Taylor wouldn't have been very surprised if Karlie already knew about the crush, since the Brit had made a habit of trying to point it out without actually pointing it out around basically everyone they met. Even the guy that sold them the tickets at the cinema now knew that Taylor "had a thing for tall legged girls". But luckily when Cara had made a reference to Karlie about the crush, back when they all met at this very cinema, the model seemed to not get it. Instead she just looked around slightly confused, laughing uncomfortably, while Taylor once again busied herself with trying to go invisible. Her cheeks had been the very same colour of the bright-red T-Shirt Gigi had been wearing below her leather jacket.

But apart from the current embarrassment, Taylor was really lucky to have Cara as her friend. Not only because the Brit managed to make everyone laugh, no matter how bad their mood was, but also because she was really good at making Taylor feel included. Whenever Cara was hanging out with Jourdan and Lily (and sometimes Gigi), Taylor got invited. It hasn't happened that often yet, mostly since Taylor hadn't been around for long, but she always got counted as a guest. Lily found that great, mainly because she now felt less like third-wheeling Cara and Jourdan, when Gigi couldn't come, since she now could talk to Taylor. The two had gotten quite good friends as well. They had Maths together, but were sitting at opposite sides of the room and therefore didn't really interact during the lessons, but they made sure to exchange a few words while waiting for their teacher. Every now and then they made sure to have some conversations during lunch or when they met while walking through the halls.
