Please all go thank IFoundSwiftLand without her reminder I would have completely forgot the update.
Also I didn't have the time to reread this, because, uh I kind of forgot....sorry about that.
------------------------------------------
It happened in the blink of a second. One moment, Taylor was just laying on her back, staring at her boring, white ceiling. Officially she was reading, studying her already messy copy of Romeo and Juliet just once more.
Secretly, though, she was thinking about how in just a few days, she would finally be able to see Karlie Kloss walking on a runway. She would look so stunning, Taylor just knew that. After all, Cara already more or less confirmed it, saying that her outfit would be "gorgeous". And even if it wasn't, Karlie had the ability to make everything look absolutely stunning by simply wearing it. It was one of her many talents.
And while she was thinking about Karlies gorgeous walk and her beautiful face, held by a perfectly trained body, an idea for a song suddenly popped into the girl's head. It was nothing more than just a simple idea for a melody, there were no concrete words yet. But it was enough for Taylor to get up and run towards her keyboard. She just felt like this song would sound better on a piano than on a guitar, if just seemed more fitting for the melody currently cruising around in her mind.
She pressed the small "on" button and waited the short amount of time the keyboard needed until it was able to work. It was a little older than usual keyboards, Taylor had gotten it from her aunt, when she decided to buy her kids a real piano. But that was okay, Taylor normally preferred her guitar anyways, it was a lot easier for her than the piano. Maybe she just lacked of practice, but that didn't matter right now. All that mattered was that she could bring the melody in her head onto the keys.
She put her fingers onto the keyboard in a way that seemed right to her and then pressed them down. She wasn't sure about anything right now, but she knew from previous experiences that it would eventually come over time. She continued pressing down keys until she found a combination that was close enough to the melody in her head. She almost let her fingers fly over the keyboard, quickly changing from one grip to the other.
She couldn't really explain how songwriting worked for her. Mostly because every time it was completely different. One time lyrics would pop into her head and she would write then down, having them in only a few minutes, but the melody would take weeks until she finally worked with it. Sometimes she immediately had both in her mind, bring able to align with each other. Sometimes she had only parts, only a chorus and then had to figure out the rest at some other time. Of course this didn't always end up being successful. Sometimes she never finished a song, figuring out that it just wasn't meant to be.
In this very case though, she only had the melody. A few chords, and something she could hum along to. But they weren't any words yet. She had nothing to sing.
She tried mumbling along a few words hearing how they sounded to her playing, but it wasn't really any successful, all of them didn't seem to fit. It just didn't go together at all.
After an unsatisfying while of trying over and over again, she finally puffed her cheeks and let out a small sigh. Maybe it was still too early for lyrics. They would provably come over time. They almost always did. She only had to get over her usually so perfectionistic self. Of course it bugged her. It always did. She hated not getting a song done. Nothing would provably ever replace that satisfying feeling of finishing off one. But that rarely ever happened in one day. She wasn't Lady Gaga, who could write a song in 10 minutes.
