Karlies grin seemed to be as wide as it could get, when she opened up the door for Taylor, gesturing her to come in. Her eyes were glimmering with excitement and her white teeth were shining back at the blonde.

After a long conversation with Abigail, discussing probably ever single item in Taylor's closet, the two had agreed on a simple dark blue T-shirt and a black pair of jeans, settling mainly for comfortable. This theme had comen from Taylor as she was fearing to be overdressed to this movie-afternoon.

The previous part of the day had entirely spend by Taylor running around nervously, she hadn't even bothered to attempt to do her schoolwork, being far to nervous to concentrate. She had almost forgot to feed her cats over all this, but luckily they were able to remind her by making loud noises and following her around until she noticed her mistake.

As this wasn't enough, Meredith had also given her a scratch, for no apparent reason. She had just been her usual grumpy-teenager-self probably (Taylor assumed that she was currently undergoing the cat-equivalent of puberty, it was the only way to explain her sudden change of personality), wanting to cause some drama or whatever. To cover it up, she had put a kitten band-aid over it, smiling to herself over the irony of the situation. It was now hidden under fabric.

The nervous feeling in her stomach had been there ever since she woke up, but as soon as she had left her home it had increased immensely, giving her a feeling of sickness. She was sure that she would have to throw up onto the pavement on her way here, but luckily this assumption turned out to be false. Her hands were clammy, and her jaw hurt from clenching her teeth together too tightly. It was a nervous habit of hers. Her mother did it too.

Karlie embraced her opposite in a tight hug, greeting her enthusiastically and Taylor didn't hesitate to reply with a similar tone of excitement. The sudden touch caused the all too familiar butterfly to rummage through Taylor's stomach and she felt her cheeks heating up slightly.

The smaller girl had decided to follow Abigails advice and not let her 'its not a date'-mantra stop her from getting excited. She would figure it out soon enough, and besides: spending time with Karlie was spending time with Karlie. So who cared? It would be fun anyways.

The two walked into the Klosses living room, Taylor's hands trembling slightly. Why was she even so nervous? It was just Karlie! They had met before. Nothing she had to worry about.

But still, her mind was racing with all the possibilities, both negative and positive ones. She even was too caught up in all the thinking to hear Karlie.

"Taylor?", it took a while for the girl to register that Karlie was taking to her.

"Hmm?"

"I was asking if you wanted something to drink?"

Taylor thought for a little and then eventually settled for a question instead of an answer. "What do you have?"

"Uh, Coke, water, milk, some kind of lemonade...", Karlie listened.

"Then I would like to have a coke please."

Karlie nodded and walked away, to get the beverages. Taylor used the time to take the DVD's case, which she had spotted laying on the coffee table, and read its back, even though she had already watched the movie and read the book often enough to be able to recall the entire plot out of her head right on the spot. She mainly did it to have something to do and not just stand around awkwardly.

While looking at it, some very familiar footsteps approached her. A little later and some sniffing confirmed her guess, it was Joe who now looked up at Taylor, wiggling his little tail. He looked at her with his small, button-like eyes. Begging to be pet.
