*Hansol's POV*

We all got off to stretch our legs. Lu smiled at me as my stomach began to rumble, and I knew I wasn't the only one as I could hear Jay's stomach rumbling too. "Hey, you want something to eat?" He asked, aiming the question at myself and Jay. We nodded. We hadn't had much food in ages. Lu threw a large packet of potato chips at us. We both smiled widely. We hadn't had junk food in a long time!!! Jay grabbed the bag from my hands and opened it. "Yum!!!! Thanks Lu!" He exclaimed. Lu began to laugh. "Wow how long has it been since you two had chips?" He asked, chuckling. I grabbed a handful of chips and began to stuff my mouth full of them. The salty flavour filled my mouth, and was quite different from soup and bread. It was a wonderful taste, one that triggered many memories. "Um... it has been four years." I replied. The other soldiers were in shock. Jay and I looked around, I noticed Jay couldn't speak because his mouth was full. Something I hadn't seen before. "What? Well, it's quite hard to get other food when you're always on the run." I said. The commander walked over to us. "Well, you don't have to run anymore, boys." He said smiling at us. He patted Jay on the back, and messed up my hair. I quite like this man, he reminded me of my father. "It's time to keep moving, if we want to make your country safe!" He exclaimed, we followed him onto the jeep again. We drove for another 2 hours, playing 'I Spy' again, and we stopped again, but this time the commander drove inside a small building. When we got off the jeep, we could see the enemy from a distance behind a small wall. "So, what was the game plan?" I asked, I had forgotten what it was, I was too busy stuffing my mouth with potato chips when he was barking the orders. Lu turned to me. "We are the sneak attackers. Once their army reaches that pole we will shoot them. Got it?" He replied. I nodded. Didn't seem that hard, was it? It sounded easy. A few minutes passed as the enemy slowly walked passed the pole. "It's game time." I heard Lu whisper. Jay then crawled over to beside me as we began to attack the enemy. Bullets flew in their direction, and I could see many of them collapsing. There was a small silence as we hid together behind the wall, so we all reloaded our guns. This was harder than I thought it was going to be. Then a shower of bullets hit the concrete, I could hear the tapping through the wall. The feeling was scary. Really scary. I then heard Lu scream quietly in pain. He clutched his stomach. "I'm hit!" He exclaimed. I crawled over to help him, leaving a large gap between myself and Jay. I took off my jacket. He held his hand out. "No. You keep fighting. You need to protect your country!" He said. I still attempted to cover his wound with my jacket. But, his head fell backward, and I knew he was gone. A lone tear fell out my eye as I went back to shooting the enemy. Then a small hole appeared next to us, and Jay aimed his gun through the hole. He began to rapidly shoot at them. I was scared. I didn't want to die. But this was our only chance to survive. Another bullet penetrated a hole through the grey concrete. Sticking my gun to the hole, I began shooting too. I could feel the gun shaking beneath my hands as I repeatedly pulled the trigger. Bang! Bang! Bang! Another hole pierced through the wall right beside my shoulder. Many more holes pierced through the crumbling wall. "The wall, it won't sustain the bullets for much longer!" I shouted. Jay looked at me. "I know." He cried. We were going to die. I knew it. We were risking our own lives, and everyone else's, to protect our country! I had a gut feeling that it wasn't going to work!! We're so dead! A small ball flew over the wall. I knew what it was, so I picked it up and threw it back over at the enemy. Then, suddenly we heard an explosion. Jay and I glanced over the wall. He was in shock. There was fire all over the ground, the bullets stopped firing. "What... What just happened?" He asked. I shrugged as he looked at me. Then, there was cheering. I felt a pang of sadness. Our side was cheering this time, but why did I feel so guilty? It only reminded me of ourselves, and the rest of the Koreans. "Why do I suddenly feel guilty?" Jay muttered, looking to me. I frowned looking at him. "I feel it too." It was an odd feeling, why? The enemy killed my family. They killed my parents, my brothers and my best friend. I should be happy that we finally won against them. But all I feel is guilt. I heard the commander shouting. "Alright, boys get back in the jeep!!" His voice boomed loudly. I looked over to him. He looked to us. "I know how you feel. But it's for the best." He said, ushering us onto the jeep. We drove off. I looked off the back of the jeep as we drove away from the dead Americans, and Lu. I felt awful. Lu is dead. Our new friend. He offered to fight for us. It wasn't his fight. Maybe... I looked to Jay. "Maybe Lu's death is why you feel guilty." I said. He looked up. "Maybe. Why?" He replied. I shrugged. "Because. He came over volunteering for the army, to fight our battle. And he was killed because of us." I began to cry. Jay moved over to me, and sat by me. He wrapped his arm around me. "Maybe you're right." He sobbed. "Lu treated us with kindness, and stood by our country, he fought for us." Jay said, hugging me tighter. I could hear my heart break. Why do all the people I like die? We got back to the army base, and people were frantically rushing around with first aid kits, and people with injuries were everywhere. Jay and I hopped off the truck. We saw Ten and Sorata. "Ten!" I called. He turned, and waved. I'm glad he was okay, I wouldn't know what to tell Taeil if his only son was killed because of me. I'd never forgive myself, and I'd never be able to face Taeil again. I ran toward them. I looked around. That was strange, there was someone missing. "Ten, where's Kwon?"
