*Hansol's POV*
Kris nodded in response. There was a small silence, and I stuffed the crumpets into my mouth, one by one. My mouth was clogged. I swallowed it hard, and my stomach stopped grumbling. "Those were nice." I said quietly, rubbing my belly. Kris laughed slightly. "I know- wait, did you eat all of yours?" He asked, laughing. I nodded. "Yep!" I chuckled. This was one of the only days I had ever seen Kris smile. I looked over to where our father was. He was talking to that other guy he came with. I don't even know his name yet, and I hope to find out soon. I yawned slightly, I hadn't realised the sun was going down. I hated the dark. "Are you tired Hansol?" Kris asked. I nodded. "Yeah, must've been those crumpets." I replied. He laughed a little, messing up my hair. "Alright then, you better get some sleep. We have a big day tomorrow." He said, looking toward the other people in our group. They were all laughing and chatting to each other. I figured they were happy. I hoped they were happy, after all they survived an attack from the enemy. It's not every day you survive an enemy's attack. We were leaving to find the new base tomorrow, it was going to be a long walk according to Kris. We'd get there, I'm sure of it. As long as we don't get caught by the enemy. For some reason, I now wanted all the group to look at me. I yawned a little louder this time. A yawn. Yep. I was really tired, and I think I knew why. Purposely I yawned again, this time much louder than the other. Everyone turned and looked chuckling. Our father smiled at me, then started laughing with the other guy. Geez, I am stupid! I can't just keep calling him 'the other guy'. That's kind of rude, then again we called the enemy... well, 'the enemy' so what's the difference? Still I know I shouldn't be rude. I waved slightly at our father as they looked at us, he smiled again waving back. "Kris, what's the other guy's name?" I asked. I looked back to Kris. "What other guy?" He asked, obviously confused or daydreaming. How could he not know who I was talking about? "The guy that's with Dad." I said frustrated. "Oh. That's Taeil, he's his brother." Kris replied. I smiled a little. Taeil? I had heard that name before now. Then again, it was a very common name in Korea (Actually it's not a fact nor is it true, I just knew a lot of people called Taeil). "Oh, so that means he's our uncle?" I questioned. Kris nodded. I looked back across the room, the sun had gone down and I couldn't really see a thing. We didn't want to light a fire or anything, it might draw attention to us. Though I was sure our loud talking was going to draw attention anyway. I guess we were all happy. I looked to where I last saw Siha. Now I was wondering a bit about Siha's life before the enemy attacked. He hadn't told me his story. It might be interesting to know about him. All I knew was that he was originally from Seoul- and he was Siha Park. My friends were all secretive. I don't understand them. I told him my story- but I guess Kris probably told him. Though he probably didn't know before I said something back at the old base. Suddenly, the front door swung wide opened hitting the wall of the restaurant. We all stopped talking, and I could suddenly see in the dark. We were all breathing hard, and fast. I think the enemy is here. Kris got up and left me by the counter, I was scared. I didn't want him to leave me here. He glared over the top of the counter, a few meters away from my body. What if it was another rebellion group? I doubt it. But we could be lucky. My father was slowly walking toward us, Taeil following- pulling out his rifle aiming it from behind the large white counter. My heart was racing fast, and I was sweating slightly. I felt a hand on my shoulder. Siha. It was Siha. He pulled me in tight, ready to protect me from whatever was at the front door. It was definitely the enemy this time. I was sure of it. I pulled quietly away from Siha, and crawled to the back door. Then, I looked to my chest where a shining red light hovered. Siha was crying loudly.
"No!! Hansol!!" The red light moved slightly. Bang! In a few moments after they fired, the bullet hit me. A big jolt of pain shot through my stomach, hitting me like a thousand knives- it was like a large monster that ripped painfully through my flesh. I shrieked slightly, and my vision was going blurred. I couldn't feel anything else in my body but the pain that felt like fire. Then before I knew it, I was falling, and I fell onto the cold hard floor of the restaurant. A piece of the wooden floor stabbed into my face, I couldn't remove it because my arms failed to work. Trying to push myself back up, I failed. All I could hear was my brother screaming. Tears flowed out my eyes, and dripped onto the floor. The puddle was turning into a mixture of my own blood, sweat and tears. It hurt and I could taste the blood in my mouth. Everything felt as if it was in slow motion as I looked to the wall. Then some quick thoughts ran through my head. Was I dying? Is this what dying felt like? There was no answer, and then I felt my eyes close. No. I don't want to die. This wasn't how it was going to end.
