The Legend of June and Day

Chapter 3-Day's POV

When i walk into the hospital, it is swarming with a bunch of sick people and military officers. I'm glad i wore a big jacket. It will cover up my knife. When i walk to the front desk there is a old woman sitting in the chair. I ask,

"Can i see a doctor?" she gives me a puzzled look and then i add, "I think i broke some bones."

"What did you do," she asks.

"I got into a fight. Why do you think i'm so bloody," i say. She glares at me and the says,

"There's a waiting room at the end of the hall. Sit tight and someone will be with you shortly.' I follow her instructions and go to the end of the hall. There i fall onto a man. He pushes me off and then says,

"Filthy slum people. If you touch me ever again i will tear you limb form limb." I mutter I'm sorry. A young captain comes over and yells at the officer that pushed me. The officer says,

"I'm sorry Captain Metias Iparis. I won't do it again." I'm wondering how long it's going to take both of them to realize that one of their ID badge is missing. I stumble into the bathroom and wash my self clean. I throw away my jacket, take out my knife and put on a mask. I make my way to the doctor's office. When i get there i grab the first doctor i see then put my knife under his throat. Then i whisper,

"Show me where the plague cures are. I'm not going to kill you." Another doctor shouts,

"Let him go!" The doctor i holding captive slowly moves toward the plague cures. When we get to the cupboard i find that they have run out of plague cures. I have to think quick so i whisper to the doctor,

"I'm letting you go, so get ready to duck." When i shout at the doctor to duck, he ducks and i bolt out of the office. There i find myself surrounded by officers. That young Captain, Metias says,

"Put your hands in the air. No one will get hurt.." I've got two options. OPTION 1- Turn myself in. OPTION 2- Jump out of the window behind me. If i turn myself in who will look after Tess and what will happen to her? If i jump there will be a 85% chance that i will survive and find Tess. I go with option 2 and jump. I fall 5 stories. I broke about 3 ribs and my ankle. When i get up i realize that Captain Metias is standing behind me. He tells me to turn around and when i do he has his gun pointed at my skull. Then i realize that i still have my knife. Without thinking i pull out my knife and throw it a Metias. I don't wait to see if it hit him. I throw and i bolt. I fall many times. I scowl at myself. I stumble into Tess and she freaks out. She takes me somewhere. I fall asleep before i can tell her what happened.
