The Legend of June and Day

Chapter 13-Day's POV

When the girl wakes up from her nap, she yawns. Tess and i were playing cards. We kind of have a habit of playing cards at midnight.

'What time is it?" the girl asks.

"Midnight," i say. She opens her mouth to say something, but i cut her off.

"Yes. You slept that long. You must be really tired."

"Do you have anything to eat?" she asks. Tess tosses her a taco.

'You eat that while we finish our game," Tess says without looking up. The girl finishes so quickly. I think she must have finished in two bites. Then again, it's a really small taco. Our game takes about a half an hour to finish. When we do finish the girl does try to get up but she collapses and bites down a scream. Tess rushes over and lifts up her shirt and sees blood dripping down the bandages. Tess re-bandages the girl and goes into a little corner. I can still see blood dripping down. She tries to reach the bandages but fails so she gives up. I smirk and think to myself Welcome To My World. I start to unbutton my vest and as i'm on my last button the girl stampers,

"W-W-What are you doing?"

"Relax, princess. It's not for you," i say. She raises her eyebrows and i point to Tess.

"Aren't you going to sleep?" she asks.

"Not sleepy," i say. "Anyway, since were both up, you want to go meet my friend Sutter. I haven't been there in a long time."

"Why are you asking me to come along. I can barely get up."

"I am asking because he might be mad at me for something and he's scary and violent guy. I figured if i brought you along you could defend me because your fighting skills are awesome. I'm only good with a gun. I can help you walk there," i say.

"Okay. Help me up," she says. I stumble over there. I slid my hand to her waist and i put her arm over my shoulder and i pull her up. I look back and Tess and i walk pulling the girl with me.
