"Jace." Alec says, looking over magnus's shoulder fro. The bed when he slams open their bedroom door. "What are you doing?" He says as magnus groans in frustration into his neck.
"The clave took clary and imprisoned her in the dungeon."
"What?" Alec asks as they set up. "Why?"
"I don't know. They wouldn't tell me."
"Ok." Alec says, getting off the bed. "I will talk to the clave. You go down with clary."
"Ok." Jace says, leaving the room.
As alec starts to walk out, magnus grabs his hand, pulls him back and kisses him quickly before he leaves the room.

"What the hell is going on?" Alec asks, walking into the council chamber.
"With all due respect, your majesty, what are you talking about?" The inquisitor answers.
"I want to know why clary is imprisoned in the dungeon."
"We found out that valentine morganstern has a daughter."
"So. What does that have to do with clary?"
"We have reason to believe that she is his daughter."
"That's ridiculous."
"If she is his daughter then she could be a spy."
"Do you have any evidence of that?"
"No."
"Then I want her released now."
"I'm sorry, your majesty, I cannot release her until we know for certain she is not a threat to the country."
"She has been here over two years and you are just now worrying about her being a threat."
"Yes."
"I am over ruling your decision."
The inquisitor chuckles and says, "you know that if we feel your judgement is being influenced by the person in question, we can make the decision to imprison them without your concent so that is what we are doing until we can put her on trial."
"When will that be?"
"Day after tomorrow."
Alec walks out of the room and down to the dungeon.

"Jace." Clary says, holding his hand through the bars. "What have I done?"
"I don't know."
"I'm scared."
"I know. So am i." He says as alec walks up to them.
"The clave thinks you are valentine morgansterns daughter so they think that makes you a threat to the country."
"I never knew my father. He left before I was born." Clary says, trying not to cry.
"Calm down." Jace says, running his hands through her hair. "Can't we just have Jocelyn tell us who her father is?"
"Jace, you know that there will be a trial, Jocelyn will have to come then."
"When is it?"
"Day after tomorrow." Alec answers. "I'm will contact her if you want me to." He says, knowing jace won't leave clary.
"Thanks." Jace says as alec walks away.
