I pull Martinus out of the water, laughing.
"You should have seen your face!" I tell him, pulling a piece of seaweed out of his hair.
"There's nothing wrong with my face!" Martinus grumbles, "and it is freaking cold, if you don't already know!
Marcus and I laugh.
I look around at my surroundings. This is probably the nicest thing anyone has done to me, not counting you mum, who got me into this world. What did I ever to do them to deserve this? I mean, looking back, all I did was make everything complicated. What do the boys see in me?
"Marcus, I hope you brought a towel with you," Martinus says, his lips chattering and his body shivering.
We look at Marcus who is rubbing the back of his neck and laughing nervously.
"Errghhh," he grits his teeth.
"Is that a yes or a no?" Martinus asks, hugging himself. I laugh, knowing what Marcus' answer will be.
"H-hey.. let's just go back, yeah?" Marcus suggests, stuttering a little, "I'm pretty sure it'll be warmer back there.."
Martinus blinks, "so no towels?"
"No," I crack up, "you'll just have to survive the way back to the hotel, I guess!"
Martinus gives Marcus a side eye, "this was never part of the plan!"
I silently laugh watching the two brothers go on about the importance of towels in the modern society.
Eventually, they have sorted their problem out and we are now back on the ferry to take us back home. Ish. Turns out, the ferry was dark on purpose, so the boys told me. The ferry was also close to the island on purpose so that we could get off easily. And it also turned out that it was Martinus who sent that text message. Do you remember? The one I got earlier today? Yeah, that one.
I have convinced the boys to take the stairs up the hotel, somehow, they agreed. Apparently, they haven't worked out in a while and that the stairs would be a perfect replacement. With a ton of determination and hard work, I made it to the ninth floor without a problem. I start to get puffed out by just looking at the last flight of stairs, so I may or may have not asked for a piggy back from Martinus...
"Go down!" Martinus demands when we get to our floor, "we're already here!"
"Let me think..." I say, tapping my finger on my chin, "what do you think, Marcus?"
I turn to look at Marcus and he gives me a cheeky grin.
"I think that's a no from Marcus," I say slowly, "so that means, it's also a no from me!"
Martinus lets out a groan, "are you serious?"
"Have I ever been 'not-serious' before?" I ruffle his hair.
"Alright," and he races to the end of the hall where the room was. I slide the key along the lock and without warning, Martinus runs in.
"Woahhh there!"
Surprise, surprise, he throws me on the floor.
X
I wake up, spluttering.
Water?
I swim up to the surface and find the twins cracking up.
"Are you freaking serious!?" It took every willpower in me to not curse in front of these two innocent children.

Fanfiction❝What a jerk. I really need to talk to him." "What do you need to talk about?" Marcus asks, "you can talk to me, I'll understand." I pause. Should I tell him? "But if I tell you, promise not to tell this to Martinus?" I ask him, hopi...
