A lot of people had visited our house all day yesterday right when we arrived at home. They left a lot of food too, which is why I am eating a box of Lindt chocolates right out of the box on the couch upside down while watching tv.
Mum has slept all through today, only waking up to have breakfast, then goes back to her room to sleep again. It's a sleepy kind of day, which is why nobody is up at nine in the morning.
Me? I've been up since four to eat all the food before everybody else. Food helps with everything, it has never done anything to hurt me which is why even when I get a boyfriend one day, food will be my number one true love. Sorry Mar - I mean - future boyfriend. God what is wrong with me?
"Why are all the chips gone?" a voice asks from the kitchen. I freeze. Looking to the side, I find seven packets of Smith's salt and vinegar thrown carelessly on the ground. I throw a pillow over it and act natural as Athena strolls into the room.
"Sera, where did all the chips go?" she asks, plonking herself down next to me and fishing out a Freddo. "I swear, there were more than five in the pantry yesterday."
I open my mouth and close it again. "Uh..."
"I...uh.." My brain aches trying to find a reason. "The..um...the.. rats! The rats! Yes! The rats ate them."
Athena eyes me suspiciously but I keep a confident smile on my face. "O..kay..?"
Her legs shift closer to the pillow covering the packets and I panic slightly. Athena can be quite grouchy when it comes to salt and vinegar chips, so it's kind of dangerous when you eat all of the chips in the house.
Deciding to sit on the pillow, I throw myself on it and Athena raises her eyebrows.
"I feel like you're hiding something again," she says slowly. I laugh that off, "what makes you think that?"
Athena leans forward and pulls the pillow from underneath me. I squeal when my bum hits the floor and I smile innocently when Athena's eyes bulge wide when finding out that all the chips are gone.
She laughs sourly. "Aren't those the chips?"
I scoff. "Pfft, what? No!"
I get up slowly, backing away.
"You little broccoli!"
I run away.
"Mum! Athena is going to kill me!"

We decided to head out for lunch today. Nowhere special, just the restaurant a few blocks away. The restaurant is not too big, not too small. It is on the corner of the road, quite close to the train station and right across the street to a police station.
Mum thought we should have an early packing so that we wont stress tomorrow and get up late for Sunday. We agree.
Now, here I am repacking my suitcase that I haven't unpacked from last time. I've never been one to be organised at packing things into a small suitcase, never had the talent I guess. That is why I have two suitcases with me for this trip. Mum had the idea of spending a bit of time in Norway after the Helsinki shows. She said she'd love to meet Marcus and Martinus.
A knock comes on my door. "Come in!"
Mum peeks in. "How are you doing, sweetheart?"
I shrug at the mess on my bed. "Great?"
Mum walks in, tying her silver hair in a bun. "Do you need any help?"
"Yes please!" I gush, "help me with everything please!"
Mum laughs and sits herself in the middle on my clothes. She tsked. "Goodness, Sera, are you going to bring the whole house?"
I smack her playfully on the arm. "Hell no!"
"Then why have you got half of the house here?"
"Mum!"
"I'm kidding, I'm kidding," mum laughs, throwing her hands up in the air. She starts to fold and roll pieces of clothing before placing them neatly in my suitcase. I watch from the top of my bed, handing mum the clothes I've decided to bring.
A question pops in my head. "Mum?"
"Yes, Sera?"
"Um..." I pause for a bit. "Did you know how you got sick?" I bite my lip.
I really want to know. If anyone says that it is not my business and that I shouldn't get involved because I have nothing to do with it, I will fight back because she is my mum and I have the right to know.
Mum doesn't answer right away. She's always very sensitive when I ask her this question, I don't know why. Instead, she takes a sharp breath and holds it before exhaling slowly.
"That's for me to know and you to find out," she simply answers, not looking at me but at the suitcase. I eye her suspiciously, something's not right. She should be able to tell me now, she's out of hospital. Right?
"Mum?"
She sighs and places her hands on her lap. "Look, Sera, promise me one thing."
I hum and she continues. "If Athena is still in Norway after I'm not here anymore, I want you to stay with her there."
My heart misses a beat. "What do you mean?"
"Just promise me that, okay, Sera?"
I blink. My mind goes back to when Max said the things about not being able to keep promises. But mum's face looks so serious, that I just can't not promise. I give in with a sigh.
"I promise."
"Good," mum looks relieved at my answer and smiles a little.
"Why do you ask?"
Mum ignores me, a small smile playing on her lips. Her hands work quickly and in no time, my suitcases are packed. She stands up and brushes her legs with her hands.
"Just in case anything happens," she says, "you never know what might happen in the future."
Mum walks out of the room with heavy breaths. What she said worries me a lot and I can't help but think about that even long after she disappeared out of my door. It hurts my head, I can't help myself.
There's something she's not telling me and I am more worried than when she was in the hospital in the first place.

Fanfic❝What a jerk. I really need to talk to him." "What do you need to talk about?" Marcus asks, "you can talk to me, I'll understand." I pause. Should I tell him? "But if I tell you, promise not to tell this to Martinus?" I ask him, hopi...
