*Mackenzie's POV*
I tugged my cropped, black leather jacket over my shoulders, shrugging once it was on. It came down to about the middle of my ribs, showing my burgundy spaghetti strap shirt I had on underneath that was tucked into my black ripped skinny jeans. It was quite cold outside, but not too cold. I could tolerate it with what I had on. "Why are you so bloody perfect?" I heard Freya ask behind me. She was helping me get ready for Simon and I's date. Really she was just there for moral support because I was kind of freaking out. I had already done my makeup and straightened my long black hair so there wasn't much she could help with. "I'm far from perfect, Freya." I laughed awkwardly as I slipped my feet into my black Vans. Freya told me the first time we met at the pool party that she adored my figure, which I didn't get because she had a beautiful body. But she said she had to work for hers and I didn't, which had made me feel guilty. It wasn't my fault my metabolism was awfully fast. "You're a model, babes. Tons of people think you're beautiful." I rolled my eyes at her statement. "Have you seen some of your Twitter mentions?" She rolled her eyes, copying my actions. "I guess I'll go tell your knight in shining armor you're ready." She stood up from my bed, smiling as she looked me up and down. Then she left without another word. I wondered what her thoughts were on Simon and I dating. If she was against it she didn't say anything, but she seemed supportive. She seemed to trust me, which was a relief. "Hey." A voice from the doorway made me look up from my phone, where I was scrolling through my Twitter notifications. Simon was stood in the doorway, a small smile on his face. He was wearing black skinny jeans, which was a rare sight. "We're matching." I said, pointing to his pants. "Couple goals already." He smirked. "Cringe." I laughed, slipping my phone in my back pocket. "Yeah, sorry. Let's go." Simon held the door open for me, waving his arm through the doorway to usher me forwards. "Have fun, kids." Josh was leant against the wall along with everyone else, waiting for us to leave my room. "Not too much fun, though. I don't do children." Vik said, laughing. "Only 12 year olds." JJ snickered, giving Vik a shove. Lewis was missing, telling me he probably already went home. "12 year olds are children." Josh said, looking away from us and at the other guys. "Their attention spans worry me." I said, looking over my shoulder at Simon. He laughed, grabbing my hand before making his way down the stairs. "Your hands are bloody cold." He said, looking down at our hands intertwined. "They're under oxygenated." (TFIOS?) I shrugged. He didn't reply and we walked the rest of the way in silence. I caught myself toying with the necklace that hung around my neck but forced myself to stop. I was nervous. And I didn't know why. I was never nervous with Simon before. Trying to get my mind off of my thoughts, I struck up a conversation with Simon. "I watched the football video we did together this morning." I said. He glanced over at me, pushing his glasses further up his nose before speaking. "How'd you like it?" He asked. "It was awesome. Made me look pretty cool if I'm honest." I joked, flipping my hair behind my shoulder. "Oh shut up." Simon rolled his eyes, smiling widely. "So what are you doing for New Year's?" I asked. The holiday was only two days away, and it usually consisted of loads of drinking. Something I didn't really want to do. "Harry usually throws a party at his flat. You can come, if you want to." Simon said. I nodded, though I doubted I would go. And if I did I wouldn't drink. I was supposed to go back to the doctor four days after New Year's to get everything checked out. Until I got the okay from a doctor saying that there was a slim chance something goes wrong, I didn't want to get drunk. My phone ringing in my pocket made me come back to reality. It was an unknown number, which made me sigh. But I still answered it, Simon remaining quiet. "Hello?" "Hey, Mackenzie. It's Natalie. How are you?" Natalie was one of the models I often worked with. She was one of the more tolerable ones, only because she never really talked to me. She simply smiled at me every so often and complimented me. "I'm good. How are you?" "I'm great, thanks. I was actually wondering if you wanted to go to lunch tomorrow with me and some of the other girls." I glanced over at Simon, who seemed to not be paying attention to me at all. But I knew he was. I then thought about what Natalie said. The girls I worked with weren't the girls I mixed with. Freya, Emily, and Caitlin were the first girl friends I have had since I was in primary school. I mixed well with them. But a single lunch couldn't be too bad. And Lucy would prefer it if I went to take a few selfies together, post them on Instagram. The life I portrayed on social media was important to Lucy. "Yeah, sure. You have my number so you can just text me the details. Sound good?" I asked quickly. "Yeah, perfect. I'll see you tomorrow then." "See ya." And I hung up, dropping my phone in my lap. "You have friends?" Simon joked. "Apparently. I was invited to lunch tomorrow." I laughed. "What if I had planned to take you on another date?" He asked. "Have you?" I asked, feeling guilty about making other plans already. Though it wouldn't be my fault, since he didn't tell me. Simon chuckled, shaking his head. "Don't do that you twat." I rolled my eyes, looking straight again. "You love me really." He said as he reached over, grabbing my hand. As if it was a natural instinct and he didn't have to think twice about it. "Don't push it." I told him, squeezing his hand as I spoke. I didn't know if my feelings for Simon were strong enough to be considered love, but it sounded pretty good to me.
