*Mackenzie's POV*
"I don't know if that's a good idea." I bit my lip as Abigail smiled at me. "C'mon, Mackenzie. I'd love to meet this Simon lad." Abigail had never expressed any interest in my life. In fact, today was the first time she had ever spoken to me, regardless of the fact that we had done many photoshoots and fashion shows together. I wished Natalie was still here to rescue me, since she seemed to be the only person here who genuinely cared about my feelings. Unfortunately she had left about then minutes ago, leaving me with the girls she had invited, Abigail and Sydney. These girls were snobby, pushy, and full of snide comments. Natalie was almost as good company as Freya was if you put her next to these two. "It would be fun!" Sydney squealed. "Fine. Let's go, then." I stood up, my coffee in my hand. I had driven my car here and they had taken Ubers so I guess they had another excuse to ride with me back to the Sidemen house. I was very weary about Simon meeting these girls. In my eyes they were absolutely perfect and I was scared he would feel the same way. I was worried he would choose them over me. "I can't believe you're already living with him." Sydney said as we walked towards my car. "I'm not. I'm staying with him until I get good news from the doctor." I said as we reached my car. It was a simple car, a black Audi, and I could hear them mentally judging me for not driving a Lamborghini or something else extremely flashy. "That's a sly way of moving in without making it weird." Abigail giggled as she made herself comfortable in the passenger seat. I gritted my teeth. Me almost dying wasn't an excuse to move in with the guy that isn't my boyfriend and I wished they would just listen to me. "Why have you got football shoes back here?" Sydney asked. "I play football sometimes." I shrugged. The last time I played football was for Simon's video, and the time before that was nearly a year ago. "Why? Football is such a guy sport." Abigail said, making a scoffing sound. Yet they got fully triggered when someone said that boys couldn't be models because modeling was for girls. I didn't respond to that comment and waited for someone to change the subject. "Are you coming to that photoshoot next week?" Sydney asked me. "I can't. I have to go to the doctor that day." I shrugged. "I wish I could get out of it that easily. I need a spa day." Abigail said beside me. Again I had to bite my tongue. It wasn't like I was intentionally getting out of it. Lucy was the one who told me not to worry about it and to worry about my health first. Ever since I did that photoshoot for that magazine that was centered around what had happened to me, she had been much more pleasant. She basically said that she wouldn't let me work too hard until I got the okay from my doctor. But she did say that once that happened it was back to the gym and business. Of course I wouldn't be too busy because I had no social life and I quit my job at the club a while ago. I tuned out the girls for the rest of the ride as they talked about whatever. But when we pulled into the driveway of the house I had no choice but to acknowledge their presence. "Please be quiet when we go in. They could be recording." "They?" Abigail asked as we made our way up the walkway to the house. "He lives with his friends? That's a bit childish." I sighed at Sydney's comment as I unlocked the door using the spare key I had. Lewis smiled at me when I opened the door, poking his head out of his and Freya's office. Freya was soon visible. "Oh. Who's your friends?" She stood up to come greet them as I cringed at the word. They were far from my friends. "Abigail and Sydney, this is Freya. Freya, this is Abigail and Sydney." I was waiting for them to say something rude to Freya, because I knew she wouldn't tolerate it like I did. And it would give me an excuse to kick them out. "It's nice to meet you two. I've got to get back to work. Need anything?" She asked me. Freya took the role of the mum out of our small group of girls and I noticed she was particularly keen on making sure I was okay. "I'm fine, thanks. Talk to you later." I said, mentally hoping she'd understand that I needed to speak to her later. I needed to rant to her about these snobby bitches. She nodded before disappearing into her office again. "Are you going to give us a tour?" Abigail asked, looking around. "I don't really feel like going upstairs." I said truthfully, making my way to the kitchen. Luckily, Simon wasn't in there. "So where is this dreamboat?" Sydney asked. "Dreamboat?" Simon's voice came from behind me and I froze before turning around, giving him an apologetic smile. "Come here, please." I said quietly, grabbing his arm before leading him away from the kitchen and into the hallway. "I cannot deal with those two much longer. I need you to make up an excuse for them to leave." I whispered. "I'll get JJ." He nodded before making his way up the stairs. JJ, however very lovable and sweet, could definitely drive away two girls. "Where'd he go?" Abigail asked when I returned to the kitchen alone. "He had to get something from upstairs." I shrugged. "He's even more attractive in person if I'm honest." Sydney smirked at Abigail and i could feel my eyes narrowing at her. I was jealous, simple as that. "Hello, ladies." JJ's voice made me relax and I had to hide my smile. Simon walked in behind him though, which made the two girls look past JJ. However Simon didn't acknowledge their stared as he made his way to me, cupping my face in his hands and kissing me. We had kissed before, but never in front of people. And I was taken back by Simon's sudden spontaneity. "Okay, guys, we eat here." JJ laughed, making us pull away. Simon smiled down at me before looking away and at the two girls who were sat across the island from us. "Simon, Sydney and Abigail. Girls, that's JJ." JJ was smirking at them, which made them both look at each other and roll their eyes. They were so full of themselves that getting hit on by guys came natural to them, but they would still pretend to get annoyed every time it happened. "Abs, we've got that meeting we need to go to. I think we should get going." "What meeting?" I asked. Of course I would put them on the spot without a second thought. They've been complete dicks to me all day. "You know, that meeting." Abigail said, standing up. I shook my head at them, sighing quietly. "Thanks for inviting us over, Mackenzie. It's lovely to meet you guys." And they left, showing themselves out. They invited themselves really, but I didn't say anything about that. "They are awful." I mumbled, putting my head in my hands. If I had any bit of self confidence before I had spoken to them, it was definitely gone now. That was how bad they were. "They didn't seem too bad." Simon said beside me, placing a hand on my knee. "We just going to ignore that kiss?" JJ asked, making me look up. "Probably." I shrugged, making Simon hum in agreement. We could ignore it all we wanted, but I know I'd never forget it.
