Simon had convinced me to come to the New Year's party at Harry's. He said it was the perfect opportunity for me to fully meet everyone. So far I had met Gee, another guy named Josh's girlfriend, and decided I liked her. She was a girl I mixed well with, just like Freya, Emily, and Caitlin. I had also met both of the Callums and Lux's girlfriend Sarah. She, too, was a very cool girl that I enjoyed hanging out with. I was now being drug across the room by Gee to meet her boyfriend Josh, or Chip to avoid confusion. "I've heard a lot about you." He stuck his hand out for me to shake and I took it gladly. Although I used to hate meeting new people I realized that anyone that was friends with the Sidemen was worth meeting. It blew my mind how I could come from having no friends at all to have so many that I genuinely liked. "All good, I hope." I smiled at Chip, earning a small laugh from him. "Of course." "Mackenzie!" Tobi made his way into my vision, waving me over. I excused myself from Chip and Gee and made my way towards him and another guy. "This is my brother, Manny." Tobi introduced me to the guy stood beside him quickly. "Nice to meet you." I said, smiling at him as I stuck my hand out. He waved it away, hugging me instead. He was like Tobi, extremely friendly. I laughed into the hug, as did he. "There you are! C'mon! We are starting a FIFA tournament." Ethan yelled behind me, grabbing my wrist. "God, Ethan. Let her walk." I heard Tobi laugh behind me as Ethan drug me across the room. "Simon insisted you play. He really fancies you." Ethan laughed at me, ignoring Tobi's comment. I was glad there weren't too many people here that I hadn't already met, so I felt comfortable playing with everyone. "There's Simon's girlfriend." Harry said to someone that was sat on the floor. I couldn't see who it was because the couch was blocking my view of them. The only people I told that Simon and I were a thing were Natalie, Abigail, and Sydney, and I was lying when I said that. So I didn't know who he was talking to but I hoped whoever it was knew he was joking. When I rounded the couch I saw he was talking to Freezy. "She's not my girlfriend." Simon said before I plopped down on the couch beside him. I took note of all who was over here and who would probably be playing - me, Simon, Ethan, Harry, Freezy, and JJ. Everyone else had already started drinking in the other room. "That's not what it looked like the other day." JJ smirked, referring to the kiss we shared in front of him. "Shut up and get ready. You and Freezy are playing first." Harry said, handing them the controllers. "I need a drink." Simon mumbled. "Want anything?" He asked me. I shook my head and he nodded, standing up and leaving the room. I smiled to myself as I looked around the room. I was excited for it to be my turn to play, way too excited than I should be. I couldn't help it, I loved a good competition.

I ended up coming second in the tournament, after Harry, surprisingly. Everyone else was way past drunk and the party was in full swing, everyone jumping around and dancing. It was midnight in about ten minutes and I was sat in the kitchen, escaping from the crowd. "Why are you in here all alone?" Simon asked as he stumbled in. I smiled at him. "Hello to you too." He was getting closer to me now, not responding. He just kissed me. He tasted strongly of Vodka and the smell of alcohol made my head spin, but I kissed back. I eventually pulled away when I needed to breath, but he kept his lips on me and kissed down my jaw and went to work on my neck. "Simon, you're drunk." I mumbled, placing a hand on his chest and pushing him away. When his eyes met mine again, he smiled. "Sorry. Just can't help myself." "You're a tool." I rolled my eyes, hitting his arm. But I couldn't help but blush anyways and my skin tingled where he had kissed. There would definitely be a hickey there tomorrow. "Why don't you come socialize?" He asked as he grabbed my hand. His hands were warm compared to mine and I smiled at the touch. "Everyone's drunk. I'm okay in here." I shrugged. He tugged on my hand, ushering me to stand up. "Come have fun, Mackenzie." I let him drag me out of the room and into the room with the beautiful view and the loud music. This wasn't fun for me, but I wouldn't tell him that. There was no use because he was drunk. He ended up pausing at a door and slid it open, cold air rushing into the room. It blew my hair back out of my face. "Simon it's freezing out here." I mumbled as he pulled me onto the balcony. "I need to ask you something important." He said, ignoring my previous statement. "What?" I asked, wrapping my arms around myself, trying not to shiver. I was only wearing some skinny jeans and a jumper, which wasn't enough against this cold weather. "Will you be my girlfriend?" He asked, looking down at me. I felt my heart flutter. The simple thought of having a boyfriend made me nervous, just because it was a lot of work and my last relationship resulted in me being cheated on. But I didn't mind putting in the effort if it was with Simon. But I still found myself shaking my head slowly. And his face fell. "You're drunk, Simon. You can't be making these type of decisions while you're drunk." He sighed, looking away from me. "I don't have the balls to do it when I'm sober." He shrugged. "Why not?" I asked, although I felt I already knew the answer. It was because he had been broken before, and he was scared it would happen again. "I'm a pussy. I think we both know that." He laughed. "But I'm not drunk enough to not remember this." He added. "Doesn't matter." I said, smirking up at him. He sighed again, his breath visible in the frigid air. I was shivering now and really wanted to speed this up because I was cold. "Fine. I'll ask you when I'm sober." He agreed finally. He averted my eyes and looked my body up and down before stepping forward and wrapping me in his arms. "You're cold." He said simply. I laughed into his chest. "Not shit, Simon. It's cold out here. Let's go back inside." He dropped his arms from around me and grabbed my hand instead, letting me drag him inside. I moved this small conversation to the back of my mind as a drunk Ethan approached us. But I secretly couldn't wait until Simon was sober - until he asked me again and I knew he meant it. I couldn't wait to be his girlfriend.
