I looked around at the bright lights and bright cars passing by.

I muttered, "Woah, so this is New York."

I went walking on the streets all alone

I went walking on the streets all alone.

I looked in every store to see the word "Closed 9am-12pm"

There was no store I could ask for help open except for one.

I didn't even care I just open the door and walked right in.

It soon began to poor raining outside when I closed the door behind me.

A little bell above the door rang.

The person at the cashier said, "Were about to close, sorry, but-"

She stopped talking when she looked up at me.

Think!

All these people in New York are big, productive, or famous.

And there I was a thirteen year old girl alone in a store on the streets of New York!

She yelled, "Kenneth!"

Just then a guy came from around the back, and he looked so joyful.

He had a camera wrapped around his neck like me.

Except he probably knows the pictures that are in the camera, I do not.

He said, "What is it, Mindy?"

She pointed at me like I was an object.

He looked at me and said, "Oh, boy."

He actually sounded sad for me that I was alone.

I didn't even have to say anything they knew.

Mindy whispered, "What are we going to do, we can't leave her in the rain."

I could hear her perfectly, as well as Kenneth's voice.

He replied, "No, we can't. But just look at her, she's a beautiful young girl."

She raised and eyebrow and said, "So?"

He smiled walking over to me.

He pointed his finger at me and asked me, "Hi there, what's your name?"
