Ponyboy's Letter

After Soda went to sleep, I couldn't.

I stayed up thinking about what Scar told me and then watching her leave.

It made me really sad to know my sister was gone.

Then, I remembered she handed me a letter.

I flipped through all of my books thinking I shoved it in there.

Then, finally I found it in the book To Kill A Mockingbird.

I opened it up to read:

"Dear Ponyboy,

I think you are one of the most amazing person in the world.

You taught me how to live life and hold my head up high.

I definitely wouldn't be the person I am today without you in my life.

Now, that I'm gone I want you to be yourself.

Don't change for anyone.

If they don't like you at your worst, then they don't see deserve you at your best.

Don't change so people will like you.

Be yourself.

And the right people will the love the real you.

I love the real you.

And again I think you are amazing.

I wanted everything to stay good and the same as they always were.

But feelings inside of me faded and I really had a change.

You still have a lot of time to make yourself be what you want.

There's still a lot of good in the world.

There are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept,

Things we don't want to know but we have to learn,

And people we can't live without but have to let go.

I'm sorry if me leaving in any way hurts you but you have to let me go.

I know it's really painful to say goodbye to someone that you don't want to let go, but it's even more painful to ask someone to stay if they never wanted to stay.
