Ok, so I have a lot of questions now.
The number one most important question is:
Who are my parents?
Summer has just started and I've been getting some free time on my hands.
I decided it was probably time to flip out a calendar and plan something.
I really want to know who my parents are and where I'm from.
What if I lived in a beautiful house with a loving mother and father.
Oh or I could have siblings like maybe an actual sister!
I could so need one of those! Or another brother to goof off with.
Darry came in the living room with his big newspaper and sat down in his chair.
I waddled over to him on my knees as I sat in his lap.
He asked me, "Whatcha thinking about?"
I replied cooly, "My actual family."
He didn't say anything for awhile.
It was quiet, too quiet.
I had to keep talking.
I continued, "Darry, when can I meet my actual parents?"
He answered, "Not anytime soon, Scar."
I asked, "Aw, come on Darry why not."
He replied back, "Scar, just because you know you are adopted doesn't mean you have to find your parents."
I answered, "But see Darry that's the beauty of it, I don't have to find them because you already know who they are."
He put down his newspaper and switched his lamp from on to off.
He set me down gently on the floor and went back to his room.
I groaned at his stubbornness.
Fine, if he won't show me who my real parents are then I'm going to find out myself.
What, you don't think I can be a little snoop cause I can!
That's it tonight I'm operating my new plan called "Parent Mission".
I looked up at Ponyboy as he entered the room with a chocolate cake.
He started walking towards the couch when he tripped and fell and the chocolate covered his face.
I busted out laughing as he turned and looked at me:
Ponyboy hurriedly got up and ran to the kitchen to go clean himself.
That's when I heard Darry shout, "Ponyboy!"
Later That Night...
It had to be around 11:30 p.m.
Nobody was awake because they had work early in the morning.
Except for Ponyboy but Soda makes him sleep since they share a room.
I crept out of my bed into the living room.
Dally was asleep on the couch either that or he was trying to sleep.
I looked over to see his eyes were closed.
I tiptoed over to the kitchen where Darry placed letters and etc.
I opened a couple of them but it was no use because it was full of bills and stuff.
I closed the drawer back and walked over to Darry's room.
He was snoring, so I knew he was asleep.
I thought to myself where in the world would he set my adoption papers?
I started looking in all of his drawers but they were all full of clothes.
Then, I looked up and saw his closet.
I turned his closet light on and stepped inside.
I looked around and saw at the very top shelf laid three flat pieces of paper.
I balanced myself to grab them due to the fact that I am short.
But when I grabbed them, I slowly and quietly walked out of his room.
I went upstairs to my room and turned on the very bright lamp light.
The first paper in big black words said, "Scarlet Curtis Adoption Papers"
I knew I hit jackpot as soon as I saw this.
I found out so much stuff like I was born in Tulsa.
And I found out that Champ was my dog.
And also that my actual name is not Scarlet it's.....Sabrina.
Sabrina - Scarlet
Scarlet - SabrinaSabrina - Scarlet
Scarlet - SabrinaI think I like Scarlet better but Sabrina sounds ok to.
I turned to the last page of the stapled papers and read the top,
"Birth Parents"
I immediately read about my mom.
{[ Dixie Michelle Matthews - Is the mother of Sabrina Matthews. She has been recently married and her maiden name was Merrill. She gave birth to Sabrina Matthews on the date of December 25, 1950. Dixie Matthews have recently passed away and was put in the grave known as Dixie Merrill.
Keith Ray Matthews - Is the father of Sabrina Matthews. He married Dixie Merrill in the year of 1951. Keith Matthews lives in a two story house just outside of Tulsa a couple hours away.
Sabrina Matthews has been adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Curtis in 1953. She is now known as Scarlet Marie Curtis.}]
I just looked at the piece of paper as my mind went completely blank.
All these years of just thinking Two-bit was someone who came and left.
I muttered to myself, "Two-bit?"
