Bowling

Dad just pulled in and I jumped off my bed going to greet him.

When I met him outside, he stopped his truck and got out.

I said, "Hi, daddy."

He smiled and kissed my forehead saying, "There's my girl."

He continued, "So, what do you want for dinner tonight?"

I smiled while thinking and then asked, "How about Pizza?"

He replied, "C'mon Sabrina, we had pizza last night how about burgers?"

I said to him, "How about this - pizza and burgers?"

He asked me walking in the house, "Pizza and burgers really how about-"

We both looked to see Josie was wearing one of my dresses.

She had the table set nice and neatly with lighted candles as well.

I said to myself, "I didn't know we had all of this stuff."

Two-bit must of heard me because he said, "It was your moms."

We both went to sit down and Two-bit asked, "What's all this?"

Josie answered him, "A Prep for dinner to thank you for letting me stay in your wonderful house."

Dad went over to sit down but Josie said, "No no, let me tonight I serve you."

He replied with, "Well, I'm not gonna say no to that."

He sat down beside me as I asked Josie, "So you cook? I thought you had servants for that."

She answered, "Actually my mom taught me a mini family recipe."

She brought over this big pot and opened the lid.

She said to both of us, "Pollo y arroz."

I looked at her confused and said, "Yeah, that sounds kinda fancy why don't we just order pizza."

Josie corrected me, "No, it's chicken and rice."

Two-bit said, "Fantastic, bring it on, Rosie."

Now, my dad's giving her all the attention and acting like she's the princess of the family?

Why do I feel so left out right now?

I looked over to see them smiling at each other while she was fixing him a plate.

Dad said, "You know I haven't had a real home cooked meal since-"

I thought of my mom and interrupted him saying, "Forever?"
