Darry's Letter

Darry's POV

I went to my room that night remembering the letter Scar had given me.

The boys were in the bedroom so I though it might be a good time to read it.

I rummaged my clothes pockets back and forth looking for the letter.

I finally found it in a pants pocket in my closet.

I held onto it opening the letter anxious to see what it says.

And this is what I read:

"Dear Darry,

I'm really going to miss you.

It has been one of the greatest and most difficult years of my life.

I learned everything is temporary - Moments, Feelings, People, Flowers.

I learned love is about giving.

I learned vulnerability is always the right choice because it is easy to be cold in a world that makes it so very difficult to remain soft.

I learned all things come in twos: life and death, pain and joy, sugar and salt, me and you.

It is the balance of the universe.

We must learn to focus on warm energy, always.

Soak our limbs in it and become better lovers lovers to the world, for if we can't learn to kinder to each other how will we ever learn to be kinder to the most desperate parts of ourself.

Days will pass and turn into years but I will always remember you with silent tears.

It is always important to know when something has reached its end.

Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn't matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.

You will never understand the true meaning of your life, until you travel and experience how others are living theirs.

Oftentimes we say goodbye to the person we love without wanting to.

Though that doesn't mean that we've stopped loving them or that we've stopped caring.

Sometimes goodbye is just a painful way to say I love you.

I love you, Darry.

I'm not saying goodbye I'm saying hello because I know I will see you again.

Then, I did something I haven't done in a long time.
