Homecoming Dance

After getting dressed, I turned towards Josie in her dress.

She looked absolutely beautiful like a princess.

She said, "Oh, I almost forgot!"

She opened her dresser drawer and pulled out two masks.

Champ was laying down on the floor asleep.

He's been getting more tired then usual which makes me kind of worried.

But Sierra said that it was natural.

I looked at the mask she gave me which was black and hers was white:

I tied my mask to the back of my head while Josie just watched me.

I asked her after I put mine on, "Aren't you gonna put yours on?"

She said, "Yeah, I'll just wait till we get to the dance to put it on."

I nodded my head and said, "Ok."

My dad opened the door and walked in.

I asked him, "How do I look, dad?"

He crossed his arms and looked as if he were pondering on it.

Then, he said, "I think we have a problem-"

My face literally fell and I looked down at my dress, but then he continued,

"I may have to start calling you Princess."

Princess there it was again.

It makes me think of Sodapop every time I hear the name.

But I just smiled politely and hugged him.

He looked at his phone that was ringing and said, "I've got to take this."

I looked back at Josie as he asked, "You sure you girls are gonna be ok?"

I smiled and said, "Of course were not kids anymore."

He replied with, "Stay safe, girls."

When we got on the front porch, Josie stopped me.

She said, "Sabrina, watch this."

She smiled and began to twirl and then began to talk.

She said, "At the dance, I'm going to dance like this."

She started twirling again on the porch and then looked up at the stars:
