Chapter 26
Beyond furious, Adam could do nothing but stand and watch. Watching the scene before him, he felt truly helpless, and that was a rare feeling for him. As He-man, he was able to do so much. Fighting Skeletor and dealing with natural disasters were actually easy compared to this.
"I did warn you."
Turning his head to glare at Veena's father, Adam held his balled up fist tighter. "This wouldn't be happening if you hadn't taken her memories."
The Goblin King sighed. "I'll explain why once she awakens."
Adam turned towards him. "I hope the reason was good enough."
Cringer looked up at him with sorrow filled eyes from where he laid beside Adam.
The King left his position against the wall and walked to stand in from of him. "Where do you think you have the right to tell me what to do?"
Raising his chin, Adam looked him in the eye. "I seem to be the only one worried about her. You're planning on something, and I'm worried about what that will mean for her."
The King gave him a slow menacing smile. "You don't trust me do you?"
"No, I don't. It's hard to trust someone who does something like that to his own daughter." Adam pointed towards Veena.
The King moved away from him. "Everything I've done is to protect her. I could not lose her."
"You might lose her anyway."
"I know, but so much depends on her."
Adam frowned. "What you talking about?"
Looking back over his shoulder, the King sighed. "You know nothing, Prince."
The Goblin King returned to leaning against the wall watching Veena.
Adam turned his back to Veena. He could no longer watch. The bubble surrounding her may have been muffling her screams, but he could fill them. Would Veena still have wanted her memories if she could have seen what that would mean?
She was convulsing inside a bubble, and he could do nothing to help her. All while her father stood against a wall watching. If only there was more he could, but could only wait until Veena woke up.

Racing through the Rose Garden, Princess Veena held onto her twin's hand. Could they reach her hiding space before their eldest brother was finished counting down?
"Five! Six! Seven!"
"Veena, where are we going?" Her brother's low voice filled the garden.
Veena groaned as she pulled on his hand. "Come on, Fenris. We'll will if you hurry up."
Fenris sighed as he continued to follow her. "It's not my fault Mad found us last time."
Veena shook her head. "And before that it was Emeric. I'm close to not helping you hide anymore."
Frowning, Fenris looked around the garden. "Sorry."
"Eight! Nine! Ten! Ready or not here I come!"
Pulling harder on his hand, Veena hurried along. "Come on! We need to hurry!"
Soon they came to a small tunnel made of the branches of the rose bushes. It was so small it would unnoticed by most.
"Here we go. Mad won't be able to find us. Releasing Fenris's hand, Veena knelt down.
