The little Goblin Princess stood in the throne room. The goblins and other creatures of the Labyrinth were not interested in playing with her. No matter how much she asked. She missed her brothers. Her father promised that they and their mother would return home soon.

The little princess still wasn't sure if that day had been a dream or not. Her mother and brothers were a trip. So her father told her. Then why was everyone walking around so sad. If they had gone a trip why hadn't they taken her? Fenris rarely went any where with out her. Her twin kept to himself mostly.

"Veena, come along. I was able to free up my schedule." Her father held out his hand.

Little Veena smiled. "So we can play now?"

Her father nodded. "I have something great planned."

"What do you have planned, Daddy?" She took hold of his hand.

"Something perfect for my little princess." He began to lead her out of the throne room. "A day to remember."

Chapter 27

Could this be what free falling felt like? As she slowly began to regain consciousness, Veena could swear she was floating. She knew she was laying down, but could feel nothing under her. She opened her eyes slowly to see rainbows shifting above her.

Gently she moved to sit up, but instead, the movement caused her to stand. Once standing she realized she was trapped inside a bubble. An actual bubble. Well, that explained the rainbows. From outside the bubble, she could hear muffled voices. No doubt, they belonged to her father and Adam.

Lifting her hand, Veena reached towards the bubble's surface. As her finger tips touched its surface, the bubble popped around her.

"How long is she going to be like that?" Adam didn't sound happy. What had happened while she had been asleep? How long had she been out anyway?

"It depends on her." Her father also sounded angry. Not good.

"So you don't know how long she's going to be like that!?" Adam gestured towards where she stood, while not looking. Yeah. Adam was upset.

The two men stood facing each other near the wall. As she walked closer to them, Veena realized both had unhappy almost angry faces as they continued to stare at each other as she walked up to them.

Adam groaned as she stopped about a yard from them. "So we just wait then?"

Her father sneered at him.

Veena frowned. "What are you waiting for?"

The two men quickly turned to face her, stopping their argument.

Adam's face lit up as he looked up at her. "Thank the Goddess. You're alright." He walked the few steps over to her and pulled her into a hug. "I was beginning to think you weren't going to wake up."

Glancing over his shoulder, Veena looked at her father, who staring daggers into Adam's back. Whatever had happened while she had been asleep clearly hadn't been good, or was it for another reason?

Adam pulled back a bit, frowning at her. "You are alright, aren't you?"

Giving him a smile, she nodded. "I'm fine. I promise. I just need to tie up some loose ends."

Adam nodded as he pulled further back, removing his hands from her forearms.

Veena looked at her father. "What actually happened?" She walked around Adam, giving him only a quick glance. "I want the truth this time. No, Mommy took them on a trip. No one goes on a trip this long."

Her father sighed. "I had to tell you something then. Back then, I only knew what you did. A magical storm had come over the castle, and everyone but you was gone."

"But you have to know more now. So please tell me." She walked closer to him.

With his head slightly down, her father walked to the crystal on its pedestal. "There was a woman who became angry because I married your mother. She waited and attacked when I least expected it. She created the storm." He placed his hands on the crystal. "You remember what you told me about Fenris?"

Veena nodded. "I remember."

"I watched the same thing happen to your mother, Maddox, and Emeric.

"It wasn't until I sent you away; that I was able to find out what she had done." He paused for a moment to catch his breath. "That woman sent your mother back to where she had come from. Emeric was sent there as well, while Maddox and Fenris each got sent somewhere else."

"But how was I missed then? I was only hiding under the rose bushes."

He raised his head slightly and looked at her. "I don't know. That's the one thing I wasn't able to discover."

"But why send me away?" Veena struggled to fight back the tears. "Why take away my memories?"

"Once I learned who was behind everything, I panicked. I had to what I thought at the time was the best for you. I only wanted to keep you safe." He shook his head slightly. "It didn't matter anyway. She found you eventually."

"And I was sent off to Eternia. What happened to the women I was living with?" She took a step towards him.

"They did their duty as your bodyguards. I'll be forever grateful to them for their sacrifice." Her father turned to look back at the crystal.

Adam walked up and put a hand on her shoulder, Veena refused to turn to look at him.

"Ve, I know you're angry with him, but..."

Veena shrugged him off. "Why haven't you gone after anyone, if you know where they are?"

"I know what world they are on, but I can't touch them. Well, I did have a run in with your mother, but that was complicated."

Veena frowned. "What does that mean?"

"I'll have to explain another time." He lifted his hands off the crystal and stood up. "You're needed back on Eternia."

Adam stepped up beside Veena. "Why? What's happening?"

"Castle Greyskull's under attack."

Shrugging her shoulders, Veena looked at Adam. "That happens all the time. Doesn't it?"

Adam frowned. "I have to go back."

"Why? Can't the others handle it?" She turned to face him.

Sighing, Adam shook his head. "No, I'm the protector of Greyskull. I'm the only person able to stop Skeletor."

Her father chuckled. "I wouldn't say that anymore. Veena's more than a match for him."

The pair turned to look at him as he flicked his wrist causing a small crystal ball to form in his hand. "Either way, you two need to return." He tossed the crystal to Veena, who caught it. "You know what to do, but we aren't finished. I'll come once things have settled down."

Veena raised an eyebrow. "Why?"

"I'll explain then. There isn't time now."

Adam reached out and took hold of her forearm that was closest to him. "We need to go. They won't be able to hold them off for long."

Looking back at him, she sighed. "All right."

Cringer walked up and butted his head against Veena's thigh.

"If you need to transform into He-man, you better be quick. This won't take us long to get back." She held up crystal in her hand.

Giving a quick nod, Adam pulled his sword out from behind his back.
