The princes and princess of the Goblins sat very intently or at least trying to, listening to the instructor in front of him.

"Crystals can hold great amounts of power. They can store the power's of past monarchs to be used by their descendants in time of need."

The old man with the long beard was actually boring most of the time, but today he had an interesting lesson.

"Is that why our father uses them?" Mad spoke up.

"I can't say. Now, where was I? Oh, yes. To use the power stored in a crystal..."

"I believe that's enough for today."

The children turned to look at their father standing in the doorway of the classroom.

"Your Majesty, I've only begun the lessons for today." The instructor was clearly upset.

"I'm sorry, but I have to cut the lesson short today. I have need of your wisdom, Sir."

The instructor sighed. "Very well. Off you go children. I'll see you tomorrow."

The little princes and princess nodded before jumping up and running out of the room.

Chapter 34

Veena frowned at the Sorceress. "How do we increase the strength of the shields around the Castle?"

"Follow me." The Sorceress flew out of the throne room.

Sighing, Veena followed after her. She would catch a glimpse, and the Sorceress would continue on. Veena did her best to keep up with the winged woman.

Finally, she caught up to the Sorceress as she stood waiting for the princess to reach her.

"Where are you taking me?" Veena hugged trying to catch her breath.

"Here." The Sorceress banged the bottom of her staff on the ground. Suddenly a circle of light appeared around her and Veena.

Slowly the circle began to descend below the stone floor.

"Why am I surprised? I should know better." Veena shook her head.

The platform continued downward for a time then it began to move forward.

Looking around her at the crystal formations around her, Veena could see no end to them. Even though she knew there was a roof, she couldn't see it above. How deep did this place go?

The platform stopped next to a floating crystal platform which on sat a large crystal formation rising upwards.

The Sorceress levitated onto the crystal platform. "Please follow me."

Slowly reluctantly Veena followed her lead. Once she was off the stone platform it suddenly flew up. No doubt to hide the way to this place.

"What is this place?"

"This is the Crystal Chambers. The source of Castle Greyskull's power."

Made sense to her. She could recall one of the lessons she had her brothers had about crystals. They could store great amounts of energy, which was why her father used them to deliver spells.

"I hope you know why crystals are more than they seem."

Veena nodded. "I do, but if you have all this why are you asking for my help?"

"I don't have time to explain. I made a promise to never touch this crystal."

"So you want me, someone who barely knows how to use magic, to use the power held in this crystal to strengthen the shield around the Castle?" It made no sense for her to be here. None.

"Yes. I would not ask this of you if I did not have a choice."

Veena sighed. Did she have a choice in the matter? Crystals were tricky. She remembered that. There was a chance the crystal's power could harm her while she was using it? "Are you ready to accept the consequences if anything goes wrong? This could end badly."

"I am. So you do know more than I thought."

"I had to consider how my father casts his spells."

The Sorceress nodded. "All you need to do is touch the crystal on this platform."

Veena frowned. That was all she needed to do? Seriously? Well, the Wiseman had failed at her lessons it seemed. Sighing, Veena turned towards the crystal. "Well, come on feet. I better get things moving before things take a turn for the worse out there."

XOXOXOXOX

He-man frowned. Why would the Sorceress need Veena to strengthen the shield around Greyskull, now? No one was attacking the castle or were they.

He glanced at Duncan. "Something's going on."

"I can see that." His mentor pointed towards the two battling monarchs.

"No, the Sorceress wanted Veena to help strengthen the shield around Greyskull, but as far as we can see no one is attacking. Even the soldiers underground have fled."

Duncan frowned. "Now that I don't understand."

Captain Emeric walked up to them. "More than likely it's to prepare if Queen Mizumi tries something, no doubt."

He-man looked over at the Labyrinthian Captain. "Should we retreat further back, Captain Emeric?"

"I'm not sure. I'm not even sure we'd be of much help to King Jareth against her."

He-man frowned. Things weren't looking so bright now. He turned his gaze to the monarchs.

Having never witnessed a magical battle before, he could still feel the power coming from the two monarchs, even from this great of a distance.

Battle-cat head-butted his hand, causing him to look down at the massive feline. The cat tossed his armored head back towards his saddle.

He-man burrowed his brow. Why would Battle-cat want him to mount up? The green tiger suddenly took hold of his hand with his sharp teeth.

"Hey!"

Battle-cat began to then pull him towards the battle.

He-man looked at the battle again. The truth glared at him. King Jareth was barely able to deflect much less avoid the spells being thrown at him. He wouldn't last much longer at this rate. He glanced back at the others. No one else had seemed to notice. He was fairly sure that if Emeric or any of the Labyrinthian troops had noticed they would be going to their king's aid. At least, he hoped they would.

He looked down at Battle-cat as his hand was released. "All right, I get the message." Quickly He-man mounted the massive armored cat. Hopefully, the Power Sword would be of use against the queen's magic.

"We better hurry. We don't have much time left."

Battle-cat roared as he charged towards the battle.
