The Goblin Throne Room was filled with its normal assortment of goblins. Some were drunk and far from the throne. While the sober ones sat or stood closer to the throne.
The little princess, mostly hidden by the cloth draped over the throne, sat on the floor playing with her doll. Only a small number of goblins could even see the little girl. Most in the room didn't even know she was there because she was so quiet and out of sight. Of course, her father knew his daughter was there. He could be seen checking up on her from time to time. The room was loud but the little girl didn't even seem to notice. She was in her own little world with her doll, although she did look up from the doll at times.
Suddenly the very loud room went completely silent. A woman with long blonde hair in a gown of silver walked into the room, drawing the attention of both king and princess. The king almost sneered, but reluctantly stood as she came closer to his throne. "What brings you here Queen of Cups?"
She smiled, but from her hiding place, the little princess could see no warmth in it. "I came to see you, of course, Jareth. Why else would I be here?" She sleeked closer and laid a hand on his cheek. "You do not seem well. You should come visit me more."
The king quickly raised his hand and removed her hand. "I have no need of your service, Mizumi. I am quite happy."
"Really? What is the lovely Goblin Queen up to today?" The woman tilted her head slightly.
"Doing as she wishes. Leave my kingdom, Mizumi. I don't wish to ban you from returning." He released her hand.
The woman frowned, blue eyes blazing. "You should have chosen me, Jareth. One day, you will wish you had." She raised her arms and disappeared in a flash of light.
Sighing, the king sat on his throne once more. Slowly the throne room filled with the sounds of the goblins once again.
The little princess crawled from her hiding place and stood next to the throne. "I don't like her."
Her father smirked. "Any reason why, Precious? You've never actually met her."
The little princess stomped her foot. "She's not nice. Something's not right about her." The little girl turned to her father. "She doesn't like us."
Her father smiled weakly. "Come here, Pet." The little princess climbed into her father's lap. "Let's forget about her. What were you playing, Precious?"
Chapter 31
Veena was sure Skeletor and Evil-lyn were not surprised by He-man's appearance, but they were by her. They had never seen her before, only the aftermath of her spells. Which of course they didn't know were her spells. Slowly, Veena began to lower the shield slightly.
Skeletor's red eyes dimmed slightly. "Take care of her, Evil-lyn." He lowered his staff. "I'll deal with He-man."
He-man dismounted as Evil-lyn turned slightly towards Veena.
Quickly, Veena moved up on Battle-cat's saddle. "Let's try to draw her away from that thing."
Battle-cat nodded his head as Veena began casting a shield spell around them once again.
Groaning, Evil-lyn lowered her own staff. "We have to continue with the summoning."
Skeletor walked towards He-man. "It should have enough power on our side. Deal with her."
Evil-lyn sneered as she raised her staff above her head with both hands. "Let's finish this quickly then."
Battle-cat prepared to pounce to the side as Skeletor and He-man began engaging in battle.
