Chapter 26 ~ Lucky
"I'm back, sweetie." he laughed as he closed the door. The metallic taste of blood still lingered on his tongue, it was not the best taste but he shook it off.
Saint came up to him and shoved a tissue in his mouth, "You still have some blood on your face." she laughed as she wiped it off.
Oliver smiled and let Saint do her thing, he looked deep into her eyes. Saint felt like she was being hypnotised, Oliver's eyes turned purple but it only lasted for a second before it turned back to its original colour, a striking shade of blue.
Saint pulled away and smiled, "Now tell me why you're suddenly a white wolf." she straddled Oliver's lap which startled him causing him to lean back onto the bed.
Oliver chuckled, "It's camouflage. Royal wolves are different from the normal werewolves as we have the power to hide our true identities. Only my family, my pack, and you are allowed to see me without camouflage." he explained as he twirled Saint's hair with his finger.
Saint nodded but she felt like Oliver had more secrets that she was bound to discover. There was a loud knock at the door that broke Saint's trail of thought.
"I'm sorry to disturb you, your highness, but someone had left a litter of pups behind the castle. Do you want to see them?" Saint's servant asked with her hands clasped together.
Oliver smiled profusely and looked at Saint, "I wanna see them, please." Saint nodded and got up from his lap.
"Puppies!" Oliver ran out the door excitedly causing the servant to giggle at his immaturity.
"Right this way, your highness." Saint followed the servant who was walking in front of her. The servant led them to the living room where there was an evident sound of soft whimpering.
Oliver ran towards the box of four puppies and carefully took each one out of the box, he held each one of them and smiled.
"Who would leave such cute puppies out like this?" he cooed at them.
Saint smiled and sat beside him, carefully taking one of the puppies and holding it close to her. "Hi baby." she smiled at it.
Oliver squealed, "I want to cry, they're all really cute." he sniffled as he looked at the puppies playing with each other.
Saint laughed and started to pet the puppy that fell asleep on her lap. "Aww, it's sleepy." Oliver cooed at the fluffy white puppy. All the puppies started to get sleepy, "I think we should let them rest." Saint whispered to her fiancé.
The royal couple went out of the living room and headed towards the garden.
"It's been a while since we've been here together." Oliver pointed out.
Saint nodded and let the silence take over. "Why are you suddenly so quiet?" Oliver asked her, his hand intertwining with hers.
"I just can't believe that things became a lot more different ever since my coronation. It's a bit overwhelming to think about, to be honest. I just didn't expect this to all happen." Saint looked down at the grass sadly, throughout the seventeen years that she had been on this planet, she didn't expect that her lover would be a werewolf or to have powers. She thought that everything would the same except that instead of being a prince, she was the king.
Oliver sighed, "I know it's hard to accept but you're here now and you're stronger than ever before. I'm still here for you, sunshine, and I always will be here for you." he wrapped his arm around Saint comfortingly.
Saint smiled, "It's also been a while since you called me Sunshine." Oliver chuckled and shook his head.
The two royals sat in comfortable silence, both thinking about what the future held for them.
