Chapter 35 ~ Solar and Lunar
Oliver woke up the next morning with a pang of sadness. He did not feel like getting out of the bed or doing anything for the rest of the day, he just wanted to close his eyes and not think of the world.
The party was great, amazing even. He got to spend time with his friends and, of course, the love of his life. So waking up the next morning feeling like death was upon him did not make him feel great. He wanted to cry his heart out and disappear for a while, run to the mountains and only return when he felt like it.
He rolled around on his bed and looked at the ceiling, there were fairies on the ceiling but they were not like the ones he had during Saint's coronation. These fairies seemed sadder, they were small and blue in colour. They were also crying as if their whole world had been ripped away from them, leaving them with nothing but emptiness.
Oliver sighed and rubbed his face as he felt the tears well up in his eyes which then led to him breaking down just as the sun rose from the mountains.
The sun.
The very thing that reminded him of his everything, Saint. Even though he represented the moon, he loved the sun more. How it shined on his darkest days, how the rays of light felt on his skin as if he was made out of the finest jewels. Oliver did not know it but under the sunlight, he was ethereal. No wonder why he was the heartthrob of all the empires, ask any of them who was the most beautiful person on Earth and they'll say Oliver Neoma Lunette the Prince of the Lunar Empire.
Oliver got up and looked around, the fairies were on the floor too and one of them was hugging his leg. He picked it up and held it close to his chest.
"It's okay, we'll be okay." he said melancholically.
He was not very sure if he would be alright or not nor was he sure if the fairy he held would be okay either. He set the fairy down onto his soft pillow before standing up and dragging his feet to the bathroom. He looked in the mirror and he frowned, he did not look the way he wanted to look that day.
Unpresentable.
He went back to bed afterwards since he thought it would be better for him anyway. The fairies just sat around him and stared as they cried for who knows what. They were patiently waiting for Oliver to wake up again even though they were not planning anything for him.
His phone started to vibrate and that scared the blue fairy that was sitting on it, making them cry even more. The sudden shock scared them. Oliver did not wake up, he was too far gone in his slumber. The phone stopped vibrating and everything was quiet again.
A couple hours later, Oliver woke up and stayed still for a little while longer before checking his phone. He had a few texts from Saint and a miscall from Kalavan.
He sighed and got up for the second time that day, he walked into his closet and threw on the first pieces of clothing he could get his hands on. He did not care if it matched or not, he did not care about anything that day.
He walked down the hallway with a solemn look on his face, that was until he accidentally bumped into Joshua who obviously took note on Oliver's appearance.
"Are you alright?" Joshua asked, he knew something was wrong with Oliver. Being his private doctor for such a long a time now had its perks.
"I'm fine." Oliver replied with a dead look on his face.
"Have you been taking your antidepressants?" he asked the prince.
Oliver looked down slowly and shook his head, he genuinely thought that he was finally happy so he stopped taking them. Every time he swallowed those little blue pills he felt trapped, he felt like he was in a tank that was being filled with water and he did not have a way out.
He hated taking those pills because he felt like he had to hide them from everybody except Joshua. His pack members knew that their alpha had many issues but they were always there for him making sure he was alright. Saint, however, did not know about Oliver's sadness.
Deep down, Oliver wanted Saint to know but he did not know how to address the subject so he kept quiet and hoped that Saint would find out by herself.
Saint was oblivious, every time she saw Oliver he was always smiling or laughing joyously. She never saw him sad not until her coronation when he broke down in front of her for the first time. The feeling that ran through her body during that event was an experience she did not want to partake in after that.
But little did she know that inside of Oliver's joyful shell was a sad, sad boy that breaks down even though he does not want to. He may be physically strong but his mentality was weak, he tried to cover it up by acting as if he was not affected but once he was alone, every thing comes rushing out.
Every night he looks at the moon and asks nobody in particular about how did he get an amazing partner. His childhood best friend was now his soon-to-be wife and that shocked him, he realised how much he had grown and how much everything had changed around him.
He shook those thoughts off and tired to be positive but he ended up crying in front of Joshua who immediately brought him in for a tight yet comforting hug.
Oliver let go after a while and mumbled a small thank you before making his way around the castle, his legs were leading the way while his mind was just blank. He was almost in a zombie like state.
Somehow he ended up going through the portal that led to the Solar castle. He did not know why he went there but that was where his legs took him and he was too tired to complain.
As soon as he got out of the portal, his feet started to drag him to Saint's bedroom, their bedroom.
He knocked on the door three times before it was opened by the king. Oliver looked at her with the saddest eyes and pulled her in for a loving hug. Saint didn't know what was going on but as she felt her shoulder getting wet, she immediately started to run her hands over Oliver's back trying to soothe him from the pain he felt.
Oliver picked Saint up and brought her to the bed before laying beside her, holding her close by the waist. Saint waited for her fiancé to calm down before asking him what happened.
"I have depression." Oliver confessed melancholically.
Saint held his hand and placed a kiss on it.
"I won't love you any less." Saint smiled sadly at him and for the first time that day, Oliver smiled. He genuinely smiled.
That was when he realised that he stopped taking his medication because whenever he was with Saint, he was happy. Saint was the one who could fix his him and she was not even aware of it.
Oliver kissed Saint's forehead.
"Thank you."

The moon shines every night because the sun is shining behind it. In the moon's darkest moments, the sun is there to light up the way. During the day, nobody can see the moon because of how bright the sun is but at night, the sky is alive and beautiful. People do not look at the sun but they still know that it is beautiful. People look at the moon and they think it is beautiful too but most of them do not know that it is the sun that brings out its beauty. The sun will always be there to support and bring the best out of the moon.
Just like how Saint will always be there for Oliver and love him unconditionally.
They are the sun and the moon.
