"I had it all backwards," Thor said, "I had it all wrong."

Esme gazed at him intensely, this was definitely an up and down sort of man, "It's not a bad thing, finding out that you don't have all the answers. That's when you start asking the right questions."

Thor seemed to actually consider the brunette's words, "For the first time in my life, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do."

"Anyone who's ever going to find their way in this world has to start by admitting they don't know where the hell they are," Selvig told him, causing the blond to nod.

A man stumbled up to them, clearly drunk, "Hey, I know you, man..."

He sized Thor up as he talked, and Esme could see that he was looking for a fight, her hand twitched toward her gun.

"You were in the diner with that hot girl," Esme didn't like how this was going, and it didn't seem like Thor did either, "I wouldn't mind her doing a little research on me."

"I have no quarrel with you," Thor warned, looking annoyed, "But she's a lady. You should be more respectful."

"And you should shut the hell up, princess," he snarled,

Esme looked to Thor, concerned that he's going to lose it. But, to her surprise, Thor remained unaffected by the drunk's baiting.

Seeming even more angry that the blond hadn't replied he continued talking, "Then it'll be easy to kick your ass."

Selvig stood up and stepped between the two men, the sniper's hand twitched toward her gun again, "Gentlemen, please. Let's keep our heads."

Just then, Selvig launched his head forward and knocked the man out. Esme let out a bark of laughter in surprise when the drunk man crumpled to the ground.

"Good job, doctor," Esme chuckled.

"Thank you, Agent Taylor," the old man said, chugging down the rest of his drink before smashing it to the ground.

316 words. I'm actually disappointed in myself. I do have a semi-good explanation though. I've been painting. A lot. As in I couldn't paint for 12 hours (and hence drew more with photoshop) because my hand was shaking so bad because of all the drawing/outlining/painting that I did. And I used up all of my watercolor paint and paper. I've been a bit obsessed. So that's why I didn't do very much for this chapter (I also wanted to end it here but didn't realize that it would only be this long (about a third of a usual chapter)). So... I hope you all have a stellar (new adjective!) week and that I'll see you all again next Friday with chapter thirteen.
