Esme watched from the other side of the glass as soon as she had left the room, seeing that he began talking to no one not long after.

"How'd you know all that, Taylor?"

The brunette looked over at Agent Sitwell, her fork halfway into her mouth, "My soulmate tased him last night. Said he was talking about a hammer and claiming he was Thor. I just figured he could be this guy. Turns out he is."

"You've go a soulmate?"

Esme rolled her eyes, "It's not uncommon, Sitwell."

"I didn't think that they'd put someone with such a weakness so high up in SHIELD," though he seemed passive, the brunette knew he wasn't.

"Look closer," she told him, "We're everywhere. And it's not a weakness, Sitwell. It's a reason to get home safe."

The agent narrowed his eyes at her, before nodding approvingly (as if she needed his approval) and opening the door slightly to talk to Coulson, "Sir, he's got a visitor."

"I'll be right there," was the senior agent's reply.

The man exited the room, motioning to Esme, who was in the middle of finishing up the last of her pancakes, to follow him, "Agent Taylor."

The brunette looked over at Perkins who was sitting a ways away, "I wasn't kidding about that breathalyzer test."

The agent scowled, and went to go get the equipment. Meanwhile, Coulson, Esme, and Sitwell started walking to where this so called visitor was. Just as Sitwell said, there was a man, who the brunette recognized from the lab where Darcy worked, there, who claimed that crazy man was a member of his scientific team. A man called 'Donald Blake.'

"Donald Blake?"

"Doctor Donald Blake," the man restated, "He's part of our team."

"You have dangerous co-workers, Dr. Selvig," Coulson told the aging man.

"Troubled. Not dangerous," Selvig corrected, "He was distraught when he found out that you'd taken all of our research. It was years of his life, gone! He got depressed, started drinking, and... well, you know the rest."

"Uh-huh," Esme didn't believe him one bit, the guy they were talking about claimed he was Thor, most drunks don't claim that sort of stuff, especially not a rampaging scientist, "You mind if we take a moment to verify his identity?"

"Certainly," the brunette had to give it to the man, you could barely tell he was lying.

As a techie began to run the name, Selvig continued, "You can understand how a man could go off like that. I mean, a big, faceless organization like yours, coming in with their jack-booted thugs and stealing private property..."

...

"...is how he described it."

"That doesn't explain how he managed to tear through our security," Coulson added, looking as suspicious of the man as Esme felt.

"Steroids," Selvig shrugged, "He's a bit of a fitness nut."

On the monitor, a DMV file popped up. It was him, but the sniper still didn't believe it. She watched as the techie began to run a security analysis on the file.

"Says here that he's an M.D." Coulson pointed out.

"He is," Selvig hurried to clarify, "That is, he was. He switched careers and became a physicist. He's quite brilliant, really."

"Yes," Esme drawled, "Getting run over by a car brilliant."

The man looked over at her, surprised, but Esme was almost completely sure that he did know what she was talking about, however, she let him change the subject without question, "If you would just release him to me, I promise to keep an eye on him."

"Release Dr. Blake to Dr. Selvig here," Esme looked over at Coulson in surprise as Selvig relaxed in what was most likely relief, but the senior agent wasn't finished, "Agent Taylor will be going with you to make sure that he stays in town for the next few days in case we need to talk to him again."

It feels like a Saturday... Anyway, I hope you all have a great week, and I'll see you all again next Friday with chapter ten.

P.S. Would you all rather read a Peter Parker/Spiderman book in this universe or a Guardians of the Galaxy book? Because I haven't decided which one I should post first.
