Anyway, thank you for reading. Don't forget to follow and comment down below (I sound like a youtuber).

P.S. Dayna was kidnapped at the age of 13 and was trained to be like her parents (Bucky Barnes and Wanda Maximoff) by H.Y.D.R.A. She killed a lot of people during this time and her biggest mentor is Natalia because she's been through almost the same thing and came out on top.

Neither of them really remember when it started, at least, not exactly. What they do remember is that it was on their first mission together that she let him in for the first time. They had been on solo missions before as well as missions with the whole team, but this was their first mission as a pair.

They were undercover. Young friends exploring a new city together. It was the perfect cover for a mission as simple as the one they had received. Find out who at the university was selling, get a confession and get out of there.

They reach their accommodation on the first night. It was in some dingy motel. A bathroom, kitchen, living area and two bedrooms made up the tiny apartment space.

The walls were paper thin, the cellphone reception kept dropping out and everything creaked, but they had both seen much worse, so they got into bed on the first night hopeful that they would be back in the tower sometime within the next week.

James Rogers was awoken in the dead of the night by the frightening scream of Dayna Barnes. He ran to her room, the worse possible scenarios going through his head.

He opened the door with such forced that the damage caused was permanent, but at that point in time, it didn't matter at all.

What he saw was more frightening then anything he could of imagined.

The room was empty except for the bed and the one small suitcase propped open in the corner, but on the bed Dayna was curled up in a ball, sobbing quietly to herself, shut out from the rest of the world.

James had never seen her like this before. To him she was so strong. She was the one who truly controlled and frightened the team (though he hated to admit it). Seeing her in this state broke him. He wanted so badly to help her, but he didn't know how.

"Are you just going to stand there staring at me, or are you going to leave?" she said, like this was the most normal thing in the world,

"How about I stay here?" He answered. "Can that be an option?"

"Maybe, but only if you lie here with me." The quiver in her voice was the reason behind James' answer.

"Ok." He replied, lying down beside her and allowing her to curl into his side in a way she never had before, but that she would do again so many times in the future.

"I was back there, in the dream, the nightmare. They were torturing me and calling it training, just like they used to. At first, I wanted it to stop, but after a while it became comforting, familiar, painless," she told him. " I must sound insane, sorry."

"Don't be sorry . Keep going, you can't say anything worse then they stories that my mum told me and Mags to try to convince us not to join." James said,

"I guess not." She started, "Ok, here goes."

"As part of the training for the Next Gen Program, they used to do this thing were they would send a team out into the woods for a certain period of time. You could do anything you wanted, you just had to stay alive for the entirety of the time. They did this over and over again, always elongating the amount of time the team was sent out."

"In my dream, I was back in the woods, except I wasn't with the team that I was normally with. Instead, I was with a new team. The team that I work with now. The Avengers".

"We were all hurting, maiming and even murdering each other. Slitting throats and breaking bones. I was approached, but it wasn't by some random like it would have been during the Next Gen Program. It was by Maggie. I couldn't bring myself to hurt her, but she hurt me, bad".

"I could feel the pain. She broke me, on the outside and on the inside".

"She's always been there. Letting me dress her up when she little, letting me cover her in makeup and glitter, copying me. But now, so often, I push her away. It felt so real, because she would have every right to do that. Push me like I push her".

Dayna's eyes were like glass. The tears that made her feel so week threatened to spill over, and for the first time in forever, she let them. Because in James' arms, she truly felt like nothing could get to her.
