*Selena's POV*

John ended up winning Monopoly to my dismay. He only won by five dollars, and I'm sure he cheated too. He was the banker and I could tell he was being sneaky.

"You're just mad that Im better than you!"

"Psh you wish! You totally cheated!"

"NUH-UH! Why would I do that?"

"So you could have the fascination of winning and rub it in, as you're doing now!"

"How dare you accuse me of something of the sort!"

"You're so obnoxious!"

"You're a sore loser!"

"You're annoying!"

"Am not!"

"Are too!"

"CHILDREN!" suddenly my mom walks in during mine and Johns argument.

"Good God, I come to visit my daughter and find her having a screaming match with her roommate!" my mom gives us fake glares.

"Hello Ms. Tanners!" John says cheerfully.

"Please John, call my Linzie! So how are you too?" she turns to look into her large handbag.

"Okay," John and I reply simultaneously.

"That's good. Well I brought you both a couple of gifts," my mom smiles.

"They aren't much but I figured that they were appropriate," then she pulls out two small boxes and hands them to us.

"On the count of three?" I ask John. He nods.

"One. Two. Three." we open our boxes at the same time.

Together, we observe the presents. A single tear streams down my face when I realize what they are.

Dog tags, on the front they both say 'Im a Fighter, Im a survivor' and our names. On the back is a picture of us and our families.

"I'm sorry if you think it's weird but I got this photo off of your Facebook and placed onto the back. I just couldn't find any contact with your family members!" she exclaims.

"It's fine! Thanks, it's awesome Ms- uh Linzie," Johns says, not taking his eye from the necklace.

"No problem. How do you like it sweet heart?" she asks me.

"It's awesome mom, really," I nod.

Mine is pink with little jewels around it and Johns is just black with white/silver lettering.

"Are either of you hungry? Im going to Taco Bell," she says.

"Sure! Ill have a Doritos Locos Taco, a pintos and cheese with sour cream and a coke," I order.

"Wow, that's pathetic! Can I have two Doritos locos tacos, a beefy five layered burrito, pintos and cheese, and a soft taco please," John winks at me.

"This boy sure does have an appetite, worse than your fathers ever was!" my mom chuckles, "well Ill be back in a few!"

"Okay see you!" I wave.

"Bye!" John calls as she leaves the room.

"You're moms really awesome," John says as soon as she shuts the door.

"Yeah. Do you like the dog tags?" I ask him.

"Yeah," he turns his attention back to the necklace and sighs.

"What's wrong?" I ask, concerned.

"Nothing," he says too quickly.

"Don't you dare lie to me," I say.
