As Everything Changes

Chapter 17

*Selena's POV*

I wake up at seven AM to get ready for school. My dad is already up for work and my mom is in the kitchen.

I stand and a wave of nausea flows over me. Before I know it the nausea is gone but I feel a little light headed.

"Are you okay sweetie?" my mom asks, walking into the room.

"Yeah just not used to walking again. I just felt lightheaded for a second, no biggie," I shrug.

"Okay well Im going to make breakfast while you get ready!" she says unsurely.

I nod then go to my bedroom. Deciding that I should still look fashionable today, I pick out my outfit. I choose my new white high waisted shorts and a black crop top that stops just an inch above the top of my shorts. The top has a sunflower on it and normally it looks amazing with my blonde hair. Maybe Ill wear a wig...

Last time I wore a wig for too long my head was super itchy and I broke out a little. I might need to get that checked out too.

I do my makeup, eyeliner, mascara, lipgloss, and eyeshadow. I also decide to put on my blonde wig.

I don't look to bad with a wig on but Im still pudgier than I ever imagined I would be. I definitely don't have the ultimate dancers body anymore but I shouldn't get points taken of too badly during competitions. I mean I rarely win by less that five points, ten even!

"Selena hurry, you still have to eat real fast and it's seven thirty!" my mom yells.

I look myself over in the mirror and smile. I guess Ill never look absolutely gorgeous again but Im not the worst looking in the world, with my wig on of course.

"Sorry it took so long," I say when I step into the kitchen.

On the table are two plates. They each have two blueberry muffins and a couple pieces of bacon. There are also two mugs of coffee.

"This looks great mom," I smile, sitting down.

"Thanks sweetie. So if anything happens at school make sure you go to the nurse immediately," she says.

"Mom, please don't worry," I beg.

"Im sorry sweetheart! It's just..."

"I know, you don't want anything to happen to me, but I will be fine Mom. You need to trust me! I am just as worried as you and if I feel the slightest but sick I will go straight to the nurses," I cut her off.

"Okay. Well hurry and eat your breakfast before you're going to be late for school!" she says.

I finish my bacon and one of the muffins before I decide Im not really all that hungry. I say goodbye to my mom and give her a kiss on the cheek before grabbing my things and jogging out the door to my car.

I arrive at the school with almost ten minutes to spare before the first bell. I decide to find Lucy with this extra time.

She didn't text this morning so I guess she didn't have much trouble with doing her makeup and picking out her clothes.

As I walk down the halls Im stopped by a hand landing on my shoulder. I turn to find Sierra grinning widely.

"Oh my gosh have you seen Lucy? She looks like a whole new person. Im pretty sure all the guys in this entire school are drooling over her right now!" Sierra exclaims immediately.

"No actually Im looking for her now, do you know where she is?" I ask.

"When I left to come find you she was on her way to her locker," she shrugs.
