My essay:
The pie charts compare the proportions of 6 types of energy produced in Florida, namely natural gas, coal, nuclear, oil, renewables and other fuel types in 2007 and 2017.
Looking at the charts, it is immediately obvious that the percentages of all forms of energy are expected to witness an increase with the exception of coal and oil. In both charts, natural gas register the highest figures among six groups in the years studied.
In 2007, oil made up for 6.7% of energy output. This figure is predicted to see a sharp decline to 1.1% in 2017, making the smallest proportion in the charts. A similar trend is expected to be witnessed in the percentage of other forms of energy, decreasing significantly from 11.1% to 3.4% between 2007 and 2017.
Such dramatic discrepancies are not registered in other groups of energy production. In 2007, the proportion of natural gas produced was shy of 39%. The figure is predicted to rise by half, making up 54.4% of the energy output in 2017. A similar trend is predicted for nuclear power with a jump of 4% in 10 years. By contrast, the percentages of coal and renewables output are thought to witness modest drops from 29.3% and 2.1% to 23.7% and 1.5%, respectively.
