Chuuu!
Your wound was healed in no time, practically disappearing as soon as it appeared. Honestly, it didn't even bother you much; it was just a little scratch. But since All Might was so adamant about it, you didn't want to argue. If it were up to you, a band-aid would have done the trick.
Now, you were sitting on the couch in Recovery Girl's office, watching her sift through some papers while muttering to herself. You could have left ages ago—one kiss from the nurse and you'd be good as new—but for some reason, she asked you to stick around for a bit. You couldn't figure out why she was taking so long. You had a class coming up in an hour and wanted to sneak in a quick shower and maybe check on All Might.
You glanced at the clock on the wall, anxiety creeping in as you thought about your upcoming class. It felt like time was crawling, and all you could think about was All Might. You wanted to check on him, but there was this irritating anger simmering in your chest.
But then you remembered how he looked—how his usual vibrant energy seemed dimmed and how he had rushed away as if he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. It made you feel guilty to be sitting here, annoyed with him when he was clearly not okay. You should be concerned, not acting like a child throwing a tantrum.
You groaned softly, burying your face in your hands. "Why am I being such a brat?" you muttered to yourself. You couldn't help but feel frustrated that you were letting your emotions cloud your judgment.
"Hey, (L/N)-san, everything okay?" Recovery Girl's voice snapped you out of your thoughts. You looked up, forcing a smile that didn't quite reach your eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just... thinking about class," you lied. But deep down, you knew that was only part of it. You were also thinking about All Might and how you wanted to be there for him. You wanted to tell him that it was okay to not be invincible all the time.
As the nurse continued her paperwork, you tapped your fingers on the couch, your mind racing with thoughts. You remembered the way All Might's face had shifted from that trademark grin to something more somber. It was a reminder that he was human too, someone who also felt pain and worry.
"Maybe I should just go find him," you thought. You could feel the anger within you fizzle out, replaced by a growing concern. After all, you cared about him. You wanted to check in on him, to see if he was alright.
Trying to distract yourself, you looked around the room. It was quiet and cozy, the bright lights making it feel like a perfect place to doze off. You were definitely feeling the fatigue from training. Your eyelids felt heavy, and before you knew it, you had leaned your head back against the wall and closed your eyes, telling yourself it was just for a moment.
You had no idea when you finally fell asleep.
You found yourself on a narrow, winding sidewalk made of gray bricks, with patches of grass peeking through. The sun was setting, and your bag felt heavier than usual. You were humming a catchy tune you'd heard in a commercial earlier, lost in your own world as you headed home.
Out of nowhere, someone grabbed your arm, twisting it back and holding the other one tightly. The pain shot through you, making you squeal. Usually, this route was pretty quiet, so you weren't surprised that no one seemed to notice your cries. But then, a low voice broke the silence.
"Shut up, or I'll rip your tongue out!"
That did the trick. You felt your voice catch in your throat, and your heart raced. You had no idea what was happening. You struggled, but their grip was way too strong.
