As you made your way down the hallway, you kept your head low, trying to stay unnoticed. The corridors were mostly empty by now, but the sound of footsteps ahead made your heart skip a beat. You glanced up just in time to see Bakugo stomping in your direction, his usual scowl firmly in place.
You froze for a second, unsure of what to do. The last thing you needed right now was an encounter with him. He seemed to be in an especially foul mood today, his brow furrowed as if the world had personally offended him.
You held your breath and stepped to the side, hugging the wall as tightly as you could. Luck was on your side—Bakugo didn't even notice you. He stomped past, muttering something under his breath, too consumed by whatever was bothering him to pay attention to anyone else.
You let out a small sigh of relief once he disappeared around the corner. Dealing with Bakugo was exhausting on a good day, and today was anything but that. You just needed a moment to breathe, to think without anyone around.
You quickened your pace toward the bathroom at the end of the hall, grateful for the solitude it promised. You slipped inside, making sure no one else was there, and hurried into the furthest stall.
The lock clicked into place with a quiet snap, and you let out a deep breath. It was strange how safe the small, sterile bathroom felt. Like a bubble where the outside world couldn't reach you for a while.
You put your bag down on the closed toilet seat and reached inside for your running clothes. You weren't even sure if you had the energy for a run right now, but anything was better than sitting at home, stewing in your thoughts. The tightness in your chest hadn't gone away since... well, since earlier.
As you pulled your running outfit out of your bag, the memory came rushing back to you. All Might's face—surprised, confused—when you'd...
You squeezed your eyes shut, pressing your hands to your face. "What the hell did you do?" you whispered to yourself. The question hung in the air, heavy and unanswered. Rubbing your eyes, you leaned back against the door, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over you.
You took a deep breath, trying to steady yourself. You weren't going to get anywhere spiraling like this. Maybe the run would help, maybe not. Either way, you needed to at least get dressed.
Just as you started to unbutton your uniform shirt, the door to the bathroom creaked open. You froze, your fingers still on the top button. For a split second, you thought about holding your breath, hoping whoever it was would just leave quickly. But then, you heard voices.
Two girls walked in, their chatter light and casual, completely unaware of your presence.
"Ugh, I can't believe Bakugo today. I swear, he looked like he was going to blow something up just for the hell of it," one of them said, laughing softly.
The other girl laughed too. "Isn't that his usual mood? Honestly, I don't even think he has another expression."
You smiled slightly at that. It was true—Bakugo's default setting was "angry at the world."
The sound of water running filled the room as one of them turned on the sink. Their conversation drifted, the words echoing off the tiled walls. You tried to tune them out, focusing on changing into your running clothes quickly, but then something caught your attention.
"I'm sooo jealous! I want to have classes with him, too." The first girl's voice carried a hint of excitement, and you paused, wondering who they were talking about.
"Yeah, who wouldn't? I mean, it's All Might," the second girl replied. She sounded like she was rinsing her hands, the water splashing rhythmically. "Having the Number One Hero as a teacher? I can't even imagine."
