Andrew put his finger over his mouth to signal silence and set the phone down on the attic floor. Madison and Andrew had done this on many occasions so they had practice. The phone was immediately picked up on the other end. The siblings were completely silent.

"Hello, this is 'Fox's Psychiatry clinic," an overly cheerful woman answered the phone.

"I wish to make an appointment for my twelve year old daughter. The sooner the better," Madison felt betrayed by her mum's words, but still she stayed quiet.

"We have an opening tomorrow, Sunday, nine a.m., if that would work?" the woman offered, somehow she had become even more cheerful.

"Yes, I believe that will work," the traitor accepted the date.

"Lovely, I will inform Dr. Fox," Madison certainly didn't think lovely was the proper term for the situation but clearly the woman had.

"Goodbye," her mum hung up.

The siblings hung up the phone just in time before looking at each other. Both were very clearly worried. What if they were to think Madison is crazy then they might lock her up. If Prince Noir didn't kill her than the separation from her brother might. Worrying wouldn't get anything done though so they tried to stay calm. Madison went to play guitar in her room and Andrew to play some video game in his.

Guitar comforted Madison so she didn't mind having to practice. It was like all her troubles just vanished from her mind. When she played guitar she didn't think about Prince Noir, her dad or any of Noir's minions. She just thought about the notes and the beautiful melody. After a couple years she was pretty good at it. Pleasant thoughts drifted through her mind.

Suddenly she felt a hot breath touch her neck. Even though the breath was hot it gave her chills. In shock she dropped the guitar. Without second thought or looking behind her, she jumped from the edge of the bed and moved towards the door. He was already there, standing right in front of the door. Sometimes he tried to kill her, other times like the present situation he simply scared her, sometimes he spoke, sometimes he didn't.

"Madison, having a lovely day I assume?" He gave her what she assumed to be a grin.

Prince Noir was a strange creature. Almost like the silhouette of a person. His eyes shined a red that happened to be the colour of blood. He had teeth that seemed sharper than those of a shark. He was much taller than her and Andrew but not inhumanly tall. The appearance he had immediately struck fear into Madison.

"It was lovelier when you weren't here," she knew this was a mistake the instant she said it.

"If I didn't want to see you try to not look crazy in front of Dr. Fox I'd kill you now, remember that," he growled in a harsh and chilling voice.

"Your guitar looks pathetic," he laughed and she looked at her now cracked guitar.

The guitar had been a gift from her uncle who she was very close with. She scrunched up her face in an odd way while trying to not cry. This wasn't the worst he had done though. It was worse when he tried to kill Carson and Amelia, much worse. Both situations had something in common though; she couldn't let him see her cry. No tears could be shed in front of this monster; she couldn't let him have that satisfaction.

"Oh, were you fond of that guitar?" he gave her face that showed he was mocking her.

"Perhaps we can find something you care more for," he used his magic to lock her door in a way she couldn't open it.

The creature walked around her in quite a chilling fashion. She didn't dare move until he passed her by, then she turned to watch him. He wasn't looking, but she had no escape. Madison had to admit she hadn't the foggiest idea how to get this monster gone. She watched as he lifted many of her precious items. Living with Noir's torture meant not being materialistic. Suddenly Noir turned to her holding the necklace her father had given her. The necklace was simply a crystal on a string but it meant everything to Madison. Madison kept telling herself to stay calm but it was terribly difficult.

His fingers held the crystal in a manner that meant he could crush it with the inhuman strength he possessed. Without meaning to she let out a gasp leading to him tighten his long fingers around the necklace. Without any thought she leaped at him. Instead of running into her greatest fear she hit the dresser. The dresser wobbled just enough for the lamp to fall.

A loud crash sounded as the lamp landed. For a second the situation didn't seem excessively bad, that is until flames burst up. This had been his plan all along, it had to be, this was so him. Madison was afraid of fire, only Noir knew this. He was standing by the door again. Madison was in such a state of fear she was crying. Noir gave her the evilest grin she'd ever seen before vanishing. She heard footsteps rushing towards the door, her brother's footsteps as well as her mum's. The twelve year old was frozen in fear for more than one reason now.
