Pick a name, any name, and put it in the comment section!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm trying to let readers have involvement but that has to be mutual.

Four years ago

"Dad! Maddi kicked me!" Andrew shouted.

"Did not!" Madison argued with a mouthful of dry cereal.

"Maddi please don't kick your brother," Robert stated without looking away from his computer.

Robert was busy working as always. His job was a major point of stress in his life but it provided for his family so he didn't complain or try to change that. On many occasions he thought of quitting but he knew he couldn't. He felt trapped. Sometimes Madison and Andrew managed to brighten his day, but that took a lot of effort. Claire always worrying about him just caused more stress.

"She did it again!" Andrew glared at her.

"I didn't!" Madison denied honestly.

Andrew looked under the table and saw that Madison had indeed been truthful. Beside his foot was their dog, Kane, trying to put his grey paws on Andrew's lap. Kane was older than eleven year old Andrew; he had been with the family for twelve years. Robert had taken him in even before he met Claire. Robert and Kane were beyond close, Kane was his best friend.

"Sorry Maddi," Andrew laughed.

"I thought Kane was still sleeping too," Madison offered.

"Dad can I give Kane a treat? He's being super cute," Andrew said as Kane put his grey faced, black head on Andrew's lap.

"Sure," Robert smiled at his dog and son.

"Yeah! Come on Kane let's go get you a treat," Andrew got up grinning at the dog.

"Dad can I have a cookie," Maddi asked with her mouth still full.

"Once you've eaten your cereal," he looked at her for a second before looking back at his computer.

Just over a year ago

"He can't be gone," Madison sobbed.

"It will be okay," Andrew tried to stay strong.

"He's always been with us though, and now, well he's not," Madison whispered.

"We've got to stay strong, for the family," Andrew stated in tears.

"But he was the family," Madison argued.

"I know, and he'd want us to be strong," Andrew hugged her tight.

"Yeah, but that doesn't I'll be able to," she muttered.

"For Dad he's having such a hard time with it," he pleaded.

"I'll try my best," she tried to smile but started crying instead.

One year ago

Madison was eating peanut butter toast when the phone started to ring. Her mum got up and answered. Within seconds her mum was in tears. Eleven year old Madison had no idea what could cause such a reaction. She stared in shock as her mum sat down and put her head in her hands. A voice was coming from the phone, Claire Fisher picked up the phone from where she put it on the table with hesitation.

"Yes," she sobbed.

"When do you need me to..." she whimpered.

"I'll head over right now," she nodded.

"Are you sure?" she cried.

"I understand," she stated with a held back sob.

"Goodbye," she whispered.

Immediately her head was back in her hands. Madison was quite confused as this side of the conversation hadn't made much sense. The only time her mum had acted in such a way was after her grandpa died. Had someone died?

Madison didn't have any more grandparents or relatives that were old. She didn't have almost any relatives at all. Her mum was an only child and her dad had one brother. Her mum didn't care this much for her uncle Thomas though. The only person she was really close to was Madison's... Her dad was at work, working away, wasn't he? Sometimes Madison would jump to conclusions, but this seemed to be the only logical thing to get such a response from her mum. It couldn't be though, could it?

"Mum, what's wrong?" Madison whispered.

Claire Fisher looked up at her daughter's worried face. How could she tell Madison her dad was dead? Obviously she also couldn't avoid telling her. They had told her what happened but she couldn't tell eleven year old Madison all she knew. She'd keep it simple, go identify the body for the police and then come home with a bit more of an explanation.

"Your dad is, no longer living. He was in a car accident. It was the morning people were tired and not concentrating as well as they should have been. I have to deal with stuff because of this. I'll be back in an hour to better explain," she hugged her now crying daughter.

"Alright," Madison said with a large sob.

For ten minutes she sat at the table her thoughts in chaos. She wished her brother was here but he was at camp. Barely able to see due to the tears she made it to her room. As soon as she entered the room the door shut, Noir was here.

"Aw, is Madison sad?" he mocked.

Madison had somehow not expected him to be so cruel. True he'd tried to kill her and was constantly insulting her, but this was beyond that. Her father had just died and he was teasing her. Suddenly Madison swung at the monster; she had reached a breaking point. She missed; she swung again hitting a figurine off her desk. That was the last swing she tried.

"You really shouldn't try to hit others; people might think you have violent tendencies. You may also make someone mad doing such a thing," he growled.

"My dad is dead!" she shouted angrily.

"I suppose I did expect you to react in such a way," he muttered.

"How did you know?" she asked in shock.

"Well let's see, how I shall explain this to the likes of you, perhaps a metaphor. If you put ketchup on fries, then you know there is ketchup on said fries. So if you purposely cause someone's death you know they're dead," he explained with a grin.

"You killed my dad!" Madison shouted in anger and for some reason a bit of shock.

"Technically," he looked proud of himself.

"How could you?" she yelled at him.

"Well it was easy actually, though I doubt that's what you mean. Hey, do you like theatre?" he asked as he sat on her bed.

"No, don't change the topic," she glared at him in anger.

"I thought you'd like it changed, but if you want to talk about it then it's fine with me," he laughed.

Two more spiders. I think it's because Todd has to be certain I got away before he can leave. Lilly and Carter is what I've heard them called. I've got to be more careful until they leave. Soon, soon I'll be safer. I just hope..... never mind that. I wish my mum and dad weren't off on a trip, then again I'm glad they're safe, I should find a way to make sure they're safe. I wish they didn't think sixteen was old enough to be left for months on and off. I'm scared.

So this chapter is to celebrate 100 views. Thanks for that. This chapter turned out nice and long by accident. So here is some of Madison's past. The name vote is still going on please comment. I'm starting to think my comment section is electric so people can't comment. I've got one set of names from my best friend which means there likely won't be a vote as votes need options. This chapter is dedicated to my best friend the only person to give me a name, thank you  @weirdporcupine .
