It took roughly two hours for Danny, Alice, and Andrew to calm down. They were in shock and that was to be expected. To learn that Madison wasn't crazy is a lot to take in. It also means everything they wouldn't want to be real is real. Madison knew this whole thing would be overwhelming to them, but perhaps sharing the shock would help. Eventually they started calming down.

Danny didn't talk much, but that was normal for him. Andrew and Alice however were shooting questions at Marigold as though she'd randomly disappear. When the questions began to slow down Madison managed to get the others inside. More specifically in her room, hidden away from her mum.

At this point the talk was starting to focus more on what to do next. Everyone, mostly Danny was very eager to research all of this. There had to be something somewhere on the internet. It wasn't like these creatures had just popped into existence. Danny's quiet nature was dissipating as his enthusiasm grew. Alice and Andrew were eager to help get rid of Noir.

The days passed yet they found little more than references that turned out to be nothing. Danny wouldn't be giving up any time soon and the others were trying to keep their focus. They spent every day after school in Madison's room researching. Madison's mum didn't know what to think. Dr. Fox wasn't worried, probably because Madison hadn't told him anything more than the fact she was hanging out with the other three.

On Wednesday they made a real breakthrough. They found an image of a creature that perfectly matched Noir's appearance. From that image everything fell into place. They found something that made it so much easier to further their knowledge.

In seventeen fifty-four a painter named Roger Barker had painted the image of Noir. He was well known as being insane and seeing strange creatures. At twenty-nine not long after the painting he was committed to an asylum where he died at only thirty-six. The creature in the portrait was known by him as Mortimer, the son of Lucifer. Going off of that they found a lot more info on the mysterious creature.

Noir's first appearance was in the seventeenth century and he had been seen fairly frequently since. His mother was a girl named Jane who had been burned for loving Lucifer, after his birth of course. Noir would have been burned as well if his father hadn't taken him in. There had been eighty-seven sightings that were recorded since. The latest occurred in nineteen ninety-eight by a young woman called Mara. What made this interesting was the fact Mara was still alive. To make the scenario even better in the news report about her had mentioned doing a lot of research. The new goal was finding a way to contact her.

Fortunately Mara had a very rare last name and accounts on social media. One of her social media was something Danny had an account on. The four tried to come up with the most professional message they could imagine. If she knew things she could help them. There had to be a way to deal with Noir.

Yes I know this chapter is crazy short and not particularly well written. Not only did I have a final exam, but I also struggled with this chapter. All future chapters should be better.
