"Honestly Alice, I don't like anyone in our class," Madison was getting quite annoyed at this point.

"Sorry, I wouldn't normally ask, you know that, you're just constantly staring at Julie. That made me quite curious," Alice explained.

"Her life just seems so amazing and I often end up staring as I wonder what that might be like," Madison mumbled.

"Her life isn't that great," Alice whispered.

"What do you mean? She's close with her mum, she is so fast, and she always gets loads of presents?" Madison questioned.

"Her dad abandoned them and then vanished; the presents are from his relatives feeling guilty for him. She's fast because she practices constantly. Don't just assume things Madison," Alice stated.

"Sorry, how do you know her so well?" Madison asked, agitated.

"Their family goes to the church; we always hang together during youth group. I can have other friends can't I?" Alice asked, equally agitated.

"Yeah, sorry, just a little frustrated," Madison mumbled.

"Dad says to tell you guys to go bed since it's a school night," Mary had opened the door.

"Okay," Madison and Alice said simultaneously.

"Goodnight," Mary shut the door.

"Night," Alice shouted so Mary could hear it.

"Hey is your mum's tour almost done?" Madison asked.

"She has two more concerts and then she'll be home, I think it's the twenty sixth, " Alice stated.

"Four more days," Madison grinned.

"Yep," Alice smiled.

"I wish tomorrow wasn't a Monday," Madison whined.

"Were already almost done April, so two more months. Anyways school is fun," Alice argued playfully.

"The teachers and other kids hate me," Madison muttered.

"No they don't, they just don't know how to act," Alice reasoned.

"I'm lucky I've got you," Madison whispered.

"Well I'm lucky I've got you too, you're so sappy," Alice laughed.

Madison wanted to tell her she wasn't lucky. She was being put in danger which is unlucky. Madison just smiled and nodded. It's not like Madison could tell her. Though Alice would probably believe her and stand by her, that's the problem. That would be wrong to put her in danger.

"I went to a psychiatry clinic today," Madison stated.

"Your mum still thinks you're crazy," Alice asked.

"Yeah, I don't get why," Madison lied.

"She probably thinks you're traumatised about your dad, maybe you should give the idea a chance. It could be good," Alice suggested.

"Fine," Madison mumbled, it wasn't fine though.

Madison felt herself drifting into sleep and dreams. Alice was falling asleep as well. Soon enough both girls were asleep, dreaming. One dream was pleasant, here's a hint, and it wasn't Madison's. That's a bit more than a hint...

Madison's dream was a memory. She was ten and Andrew was thirteen, her dad was still alive then. The dream/memory was foggy but not insanely foggy, she could still see around.

She and Andrew were swimming in the lake. It was the last time Madison had ever gone swimming. Her dad was reading in the hammock nearby. The siblings were splashing each other and racing, everyone was happy. But, nothing gold can stay (-Robert Frost). With Noir lurking nearby, always, good things didn't last. Andrew was laughing as he splashed his little sister.

Suddenly Madison felt herself being dragged to the bottom a hand clasped to her leg. She couldn't breathe as the hand pulled her down. For some reason she was thinking a siren lived in the lake at first, she was thinking about how sirens pull sailors underwater and drown them. She kicked and tried to scream which wasn't particularly useful as it wouldn't be heard. At last a kick set her free. Quickly she swam to the surface and Andrew pulled her to the beach. Her dad had left the hammock and she was coughing up water on the sand. What on Earth had happened?

Noir would introduce himself a month later. Madison wished she could go back to when Noir wasn't around. The incident at the lake was the first big thing Noir did. Swimming was the first fear he had caused, followed by everything else.

Madison awoke shaking and at that moment she realized she had actually been screaming. Mr. Jackson was standing at the door and a startled Alice stood beside him. Alice was used to her nightmares but they still startled her. Alice immediately ran to her and hugged her. Mr. Jackson went back to bed and the girls continued to hug. Soon enough Madison fell into a dreamless, peaceful sleep.

A/N: I know it's shorter. I had to stop typing or Todd would find me. He was getting close, scary close.

These two chapter were more poorly planned then the past chapters and the future ones. Anyways I won't be able write for a couple days and after that I might still be pretty busy. I've got to write at least one short story in less than a month and I've just finished planning. Chapters will get longer, someday.
