"We just want to know what happened," the policewoman stated softly.
Before her were four children. The two who had been wounded in the unknown incident were stitched and bandaged. The other two sat uncomfortably nearby. The children were far from willing to talk about the incident. Though to the woman's surprise they didn't seem too traumatised to speak or anything like that. It was quite unclear why they refused to talk actually.
It was also unclear as to what had occurred. The one child had quite a torn up shoulder while the other seemed to have a slash to the thigh. The best theory she had was that someone had slashed them numerous time with a strangely shaped knife. Still that told them little on the suspect or the situation. The woman decided it would be best to try to get some information and just leave the topic for the moment.
"I'll need to know who all of your parents are," she said in an authoritative way. The children quietly listed their parents. Other than Alice the children were quite worried to see their parents. Alice's father was perfectly aware of the situation and would likely be proud of them. Mrs. Fisher however would be very worried and very upset. Danny's parents would probably try to stop him from being with his boyfriend. The situation certainly wasn't perfect, but it could be a lot worse.
"I'm going to ask again. What happened out there? My partner is at the crime scene and according to him it looks peculiar. A jar with a butterfly very scratched up ground, and a bowl of unknown substance that smells slightly of blood. In his words it looked like a cult thing. Does his theory have any ground in reality?" she tried to pursue information once again.
"You wouldn't believe us if we told you what happened," Madison said as she shook her head. They all knew there was little point in making up some story. Besides lies would likely only make the situation worse. It wasn't like they'd be seen as crazy for life. They were young enough that the truth though unbelievable would likely be forgotten.
"We need to know what happened," the woman repeated.
"We banished Lucifer's son from Earth and he got a little...violent," Alice said with her head held high.
"Kid, we need the truth."
"That is the truth," Danny defended in a hardly audible voice.
"Madison, Andrew!" Mrs. Fisher shouted as she hurried into the room. Once she'd gained some composure she spoke again, "What happened, I was just told my children were in the hospital?"
"We don't know yet mam. All we know is that shoulder was practically shredded and his leg has quite the gash in it. We're struggling to get answers," the woman explained.
"My daughter would speak willingly with her psychiatrist," Mrs. Fisher suggested.

"I would have spoken honestly to the police," Madison complained.
"She didn't seem to think so."
"She didn't believe us."
"Madison what happened?"
"We banished Noir."
"I assume the wounds are from him then?"
"Yes."
"Your brother and friends were there?"
"Is that rhetorical?"
Madison wondered if her friends could make Dr. Fox believe her. Would three seemingly sane teens be able to change his world view? Madison sincerely doubted that changing his mind was possible. His mind was made up.

"As I told that police lady we banished Noir," Alice said.
"You saw him?"
"Of course I saw him," Alice stated suddenly understanding Madison's frustration. How could he not believe them? They were all telling him the same thing. Besides how did he think Madison and Andrew got their injuries. Madison most certainly couldn't have shredded her own shoulder. Andrew wouldn't have wounded his leg, it would interfere with track and Madison wouldn't have wanted that either. They didn't have some weird motive so why did he feel the need to question them?

"Noir wounded you?"
"Yeah."
"What did he look like?"
"A solid shadow with sharp claws and teeth, oh also red eyes."
"You banished him?"
"Yeah. All the other creatures too, though they won't be banished until 24 hours after the ritual thing."
"So they'll stop bothering people."
"Yeah."

"Mrs. and Mr. Gomez I'd really like to speak with your son," Dr. Fox said.
"That's understandable; however, we do not want Danny to have any involvement in this. I'm sure you understand," Mr. Gomez said.
"Okay," Dr. Fox sighed in frustration.

Madison stared at the blank walls in thought. In ten hours the barrier would be placed. At that point she would be stuck either here or there. Her friends and brother assumed she'd be staying here. She wasn't sure if she really wanted to though. Perhaps it was the possibility of something else that drew her attention. Perhaps the grass just seemed greener on the other side. The time limit could be pushing her to consider the other options. She just wasn't sure she wanted to stay. At the same time she questioned why she'd want to leave. She had a loving family, as she was often told by Dr. Fox. She had friends; there was Alice and she was even growing close to Danny. If she left she would be leaving her dreams. Besides how would she get out of the hospital? Would the Grundwasser even be willing to take her with him? Could she leave it all behind?
I apologize for the late chapter something happened that slowed down the writing of the chapter. Two more chapters. -Ann
