The second Madison got home she ran right to Andrew's arms. At this point she was crying, more like sobbing actually. It wasn't that something had been excessively upsetting, just very overwhelming. Madison tried to avoid crying if overwhelmed, just in case Noir would see. She couldn't presently help it though. The siblings hugged as Andrew tried to comfort his little sister.

"How'd it go Madison?" Andrew whispered in her ear.

"Fine," she sobbed.

"Just overwhelmed then?" he asked and she nodded.

"Let's talk in your room then," he suggested.

"No thank you. I'd like to have a bit of time to think," she didn't take his offer.

"Okay, I'll be in my room I guess," he had been a little hurt but it wasn't a big deal.

"Thank you," she whispered through her tears.

"You're welcome," he stated as he went to his room.

Madison hurried to her room as she also didn't particularly want her mum to know she had started crying. Her mum had just had to get something or other from the car's trunk. Once Madison got into her room she shut the door despite the possible danger of Noir. He'd come, she knew he would, just not when.

He'd likely ask all about her morning. In that scenario she couldn't avoid talking, this was Noir after all. Noir always had a way to make her talk. Hopefully he had calmed down from the rage he had felt earlier that day.

Madison tried to take her mind off the earlier events in any way she could. The easiest way seemed to be doing her homework. It was math, her favourite subject, and the one she felt best removed her from the world she lived in. Math took her focus and distracted her, as did music. Her guitar was broken.

She had nearly finished the homework and it was late afternoon when she was jolted back into the real world. What had caused to be launched back in could have been one of three things. It was either Noir's hot breath, his presently smoky smell, or the sound he made to get the twelve year old's attention. Whatever it was Madison had become alert and aware.

"What a good girl, doing her homework. Though as you're nearly done and have until tomorrow afternoon I think you need a break," he flipped her textbook closed with his dark almost shadow like hand.

"I don't like to finish things last minute," she mumbled.

"Madison I've spent much of your short life with you so I know that isn't true. Don't you know lying is a sin," he acted as though he were teaching her something.

"I suppose you would know sin," she glared at him, for the moment he wanted her alive.

"You aren't incorrect. Anyways I've been waiting for you to tell me all about your session with what's his name Dr. Fox dung?" he asked.

"Name Calling and you were just criticizing my lying," she tried to stay brave or at least make it seem she was.

"With a name like his he's asking for that. Also I wasn't criticizing your lying that would be hypocritical," he stated.

"Right and you are obviously not a hypocrite," she spoke sarcastically.

"Of course I'm not. I may love your pain and suffering but I most certainly am not a hypocrite," he laughed.

Just as Noir stopped laughing Madison's phone started to ring. Without second thought she answered it. It was Alice. Noir wouldn't attack her while on the phone, it could out his existence.

"Hey Madison, it's Alice. I was just wondering what you got on some of the math questions?" asked Alice.

"How about I just come over I really need to talk to you anyways," Madison suggested.

"If you bring your backpack you can sleepover," Alice offered cheerfully.

"I'll be there in fifteen minutes then," Madison smiled slightly relieved.

"See you," Alice smiled, obviously Madison didn't see this.

"You troublesome child" Noir growled as he came closer.

Once he got closer he grabbed her by the neck and lifted her so the tips of her toes just touched the ground. She couldn't breath and automatically panicked. Noir had tried to kill her before but that didn't mean she was used to it. Most don't get used to monsters trying to kill them. Her thoughts were quite the pandemonium and the lack of air wasn't helping.

What would Andrew do? This was the most clear thought racing through her head. He'd fight, he'd try to survive. This reminded her of the pencil in her left hand. Using all the strength she had with the lack of air she stabbed it into his strange hand with everything she had.

He immediately dropped her and grabbed his hand. Her heart was racing as she tried to take in as much air as she could. She was alive, she could hardly believe it. The hole in his hand had already vanished. He looked at her; his eyes blazing with anger, her own were dripping with fear. Noir was so enraged he looked as though he would explode.

Suddenly his arm was coming towards her again. As her back was against her bed she couldn't get away quick enough. One of his blade like claws made a long cut along her cheek. She gritted her teeth and took on the pain with unbelievable strength. She curled up against the bed with her eyes closed and hands over her ears. For some reason she thought this would actually make her surroundings vanish.

She didn't think it would work. When she saw that Noir had left she was surprised. It wasn't as though she thought he wouldn't return again, she knew he would. The situation seemed like he had hung up on her in anger or perhaps he rage quit. Whatever had happened he was gone and Madison was in pain.

A/N: So a tiny bit longer than my past chapters. They will get longer. I was unable to write for a week but I am now back in the game. Thanks for reading. Please comment.

If you are wondering why I was gone for a week I do have an explanation. It was Todd. It's always Todd. Anyways he returned. Therefore I had to hide in the closet for a week. I managed to leave the closet to get my computer and I hardly made it back to the closet. But I am now safe in the closet with my computer, sweaters, and blankets. On Friday and Saturday I will be going on missions for food and water therefore I won't be able to write anything. If I don't return you'll just have to make up the ending I guess. I think Todd is building an army so I'll have to be careful.
