Both Madison and the embodiment of evil were very confused.
"I'll see you soon Madison, soon!" he shouted so loud that without thinking of her location Madison covered her ears with her hands.
As it is Madison's life it's rather obvious that if Dr. Fox were to come into the waiting room it had to be at that moment. She covered her ears a longer than needed mostly out of shock. Sometimes Noir did this when he got mad, he'd yell so loud it hurt Madison's ears.
Only when she heard Dr. Fox's voice did she remove her hands, "hello Madison."
She turned to face Dr. Fox. He was of average height and average weight. His hair was black and his eyes a light shade of grey. Dr. Fox had some wrinkles making Madison think he was either old or stressed. Madison immediately assumed stressed as being in the clinic made her very stressed. He seemed pleasant as did his voice.
Madison knew he wouldn't believe what she knew to be the truth though. In such a career he likely wasn't open minded as he had probably come to a state of mind where all that sounded crazy, was crazy. He was at a point where he had ideas about the world, ideas that he spent enough years with for them to stick. After such a long time of thinking he was right, he wouldn't just give up. A twelve year old wasn't likely to be excessively credible to him either. Claire Fisher probably hadn't given Madison a chance for the same reason, adults were just too stubborn.
"Madison, I'm going to talk with your mum for a minute and then we'll have our session," Dr. Fox explained.
Madison didn't reply or show any recognition other than sitting down. She wasn't particularly eager to speak with him and for now she just wanted to avoid it. He smiled kindly before going into his office with her mum.
What could they be saying? Perhaps they were speaking of Carson, the road, Amelia, and the mirror. Maybe they were talking about the monsters. They could be talking about her childhood, or maybe even her dad. Whatever they were speaking of, Madison was worried. She couldn't imagine this going anything but poorly.
So many thoughts filled her mind. Her head filled with possible outcomes and how she could respond to certain questions. She questioned what had gone on with Noir. These thoughts continued to bombard her until she once again heard Dr. Fox's voice. Immediately she had returned to the world.
It had only been five minutes but Madison felt it had been much longer. Her thoughts had bombarded her at such a speed that the quantity made it seem as though it had been at least twenty minutes. She took a deep breath and got ready to stand.
"We're going to start our session now if that's okay," he spoke calmly.
Madison followed him to his office sort of room. It was a nice room, admittedly a bit relaxing. He gestured to a chair and she sat down.
A/N: It's in my nature to write author notes so the fact this is the fourth chapter and first author note is interesting. If you are reading this book I am grateful and hope you enjoy it. I most certainly welcome constructive criticism. As with everyone I am always learning. As a rather new author I've got a lot of room for improvement.
I realize this is quite a short chapter. It was originally meant to be longer but didn't turn out as such.I'll have the next chapter out within this week, though it may take more time. I know little about the topic of psychiatry so I'm just going with the flow.
My publishing will slow down a bit once summer vacation is here but hopefully still be regular. Most chapters will also be much longer. Sorry about the length. This was also written partially when I'm quite tired. Please comment to share opinions, info, and maybe connections or things you like.
Have a lovely day/night/whenever.
