3. An awful morning

Madison hadn't really been able to sleep after the incident. Prince Noir, fire, the upcoming appointment, and her mum getting mad at her. Not the most pleasant things and most certainly not helping with sleep. Eventually she did fall asleep, at one a.m., but then she woke up at five. Madison was a morning person and normally got up at six on weekends but never so early as five. It meant she had four hours to get ready which wasn't particularly bad.

She used the washroom and brushed her teeth and hair like normal. Though her mum always had to make her shower it was different today. After half an hour of staring at the shower and trying to talk herself into having a shower she got in. Madison hated to shower, though she did like being clean. See if she got water or soap in her eyes she wouldn't be able to see which made her unbearably vulnerable. It had nothing to do with the nudity, she'd run outside naked to get away from Noir but not being able to see him, that was beyond terrifying. If she heard the smallest sound or the water hit her in a strange way she would panic. Today she was just too alert. She just barely finished the shower before jumping out.

Once she was back in her room she started working on deciding what to wear. This took at least half an hour as well. In the end she put on a light blue shirt was purple flowers on the front centre, black sweatpants, and the necklace from yesterday's event. At this point she still had an hour and a half.

After half an hour of worrying her mum called her and her brother for breakfast. On the table there was waffles and apple juice. Despite last night's event her mum probably wanted to do something to make up for the betrayal. This didn't come close to fixing it but Madison sure did like waffles.

By the end of the wonderful betrayal meal they had little time before having to leave. It was clear her mum wished to talk about last night some more. Last night she seemed to yell everything she thought, so Madison wasn't sure what was left to say. Her mum had been really mad, like really, really mad.

"Love, I'm sorry about yelling so much last night. You just have to understand you shouldn't drop guitars or knock lamps off dressers," her mum stated.

"I didn't mean to, it was because of Noir," Madison mumbled the last part under her breath, but her mum still heard.

"You need to stop this Madison, you can't blame figments of your imagination for things you do," her mum scolded her.

"We should be going don't you think," Madison muttered as she went outside to the car, her mum followed closely.

Madison's mum started that car and they drove to the clinic which was quite near their house. Madison also didn't like vehicles or seat belts as they confined her. Though complaining never helped so she just sat uncomfortably until they got there. Every second of being trapped she feared Noir would appear and kill her. Even though she knew Noir wanted to see her go through this she was still very paranoid.

Madison had a tendency to say dislike instead of fear, probably because Noir loved when she was afraid. Madison would say she disliked fire, showers, the dark, and being trapped, in reality she feared these things. She feared many more things and most had to do with Noir in some way or another. Noir knew of this tendency so it was quite pointless, but at the same time not pointless as it comforted her slightly.

As they parked the car at the clinic after the all too silent ride her mum gave a sort of apology smile. Madison ignored this and got out of the car, before gently closing the door. Madison had been raised in such a way that even in anger she would most certainly not slam a door. Her mum got out right after her and the two started walking towards the clinic. As her reached her hand towards the door knob Madison felt a familiar hot breath on her neck.

Well, truthfully, Madison wasn't shocked; after all he had said he wanted to watch her try to seem sane. She acted calm and entered with her mum. The place was light, very light; it looked like a normal clinic. As they neared the front desk Madison looked back to the door, Noir was still there and he look enraged.
