WARNING: long and emo lmfao

the best day(s) of my life by far are probably september 11-12.
i'll exclude the year.
it had somewhat a mix of happiness and sadness in it.
also some nostalgia.

so, i moved houses when i was four, the date was also september 11. (yes, i know about 9/11 but this is different alright)
i absolutely hated moving. i cried and stuff.
so when that september 11 came, i was very happy i was going to stay in a hotel overnight with the cousins i grew up with.
except for the two uncles who live in the usa.

i felt like a kid again with my cousins.

we went to a buffet and ate what we wanted,
we messed around at the toy store (even if my cousins are almost all adults)

then when we went back to the hotel,
we bought jenga bricks and played with them,
whoever lost had to treat everyone and order mcdonald's, even if it was about 12am,
we watched childhood anime together like the old days,
and the next morning we went swimming. i screamed my lungs out because i didn't know how to swim and i thought my cousin would drop me. :")
we also ate lunch together.

the dad of my two cousins who were siblings (my other uncle) picked us up to go home,
we were in the backseats singing old 2000's songs.
and guess where we dropped us off?
my old house.

my great grandmother and our dog was the only one that was there. i haven't seen her since that day.
my other cousin who still lived there stayed in his room, just like he always did. it was his first day of college the day after, meaning i wouldn't get to see him a lot anymore.

the sadness came when i realized a few things.
nobody ever stays in that house anymore,
i wouldn't see my cousins a lot,
our dog is always lonely,
and my great grandmother can't remember my name.

when my parents picked me up to go to my real house,
they were talking about how my old house was gonna get destroyed and our family's selling the land.

idk what i felt back then,
but all i remember was i locked myself in my room,
and even if it was a school day, i didn't care if my homework wasn't done.
