my dad and music!

────── {.⋅ ✯ ⋅.} ─────

(warning: too much green day stuff)

i think i've told you my
dad and i have a common
interest with music, but have
i ever told you he sometimes
doesn't like me listening to
some of it sometimes?

it's not because he thinks i'm
just a 90's feeler or something
lol that's my job to roast my
classmates. i guess he thinks the
music is too adult for me..?

i remember practicing basket
case on my guitar in my room
once, my dad got in and he was
like "listen.. uh, i know you love
playing your favourite songs,
especially off dookie (the album),
but like, try to play something
from their newer albums, okay?"

so dad, you're saying green day's
dookie album is explicit? HOHOHO
JUST WAIT TILL YOU HEAR JESUS OF
SUBURBIA OFF AMERICAN IDIOT BRO.

(ok edit: i changed my mind i remember
longview being off dookie and that's like
a really adult song so like 0-1)

but eh, i don't blame him. he did
have the album when he was
like 15 or something so i guess
he knows more. i even asked
my aunt, his sister if it was
true and yeah it's true.

there's this one argument i had
with him once that kept me
laughing. so i was drawing
while listening to brain stew
by green day, then my dad walked in.

dad: hey cai i- WAIT A SEC THAT'S FROM DOOKIE RIGHT.

me: huh what do you mean

dad: that song brain stew, it's from dookie,
and what did I tell you about that?

me: AHAHAHAHAHAHAH no.
brain stew is from
insomniac. (another album)

dad: it's dookie.

me: insomniac.

dad: dookie.
me: okay fine want me to
search it up to prove it to you?

dad: go ahead i dare you

*i searched for 'brain stew green
day' on google and it said it
was from the album insomniac.

me: HA

dad: oh.
