[CHAPTER #11]
Yeonji's Point of View
I have to admit I am really pissed off at what Naejin did to sabotage Jimin and I. I thought she was nicer than that at first, but clearly she's just another bitch of the school. I also can't believe Jin passed without even doing anything! I guess he deserves it for snitching and not keeping it quiet. All I'm hoping for is a good grade, because that's all that matters at this point.
We have already eaten lunch and were given a free period for rehearsals. Of course I had no idea what is being planned for our performance, so I had to just sit and watch for an hour and then had dinner.
All of us gather in the classroom once again for preparation of our drama exam. This one had a choice of costumes, but Jin insists on having school uniform. The girls had to remove my makeup and restyle my hair so it looks simpler for our performance. I have so much to give to those twins as a thank you.
"I spoke with the stage manager and our set is one similar of a classroom," Jin begins explaining. I practically had to beg him for this information, but it is truly needed.
"There is one desk facing the wings of the stage and you will sit in it and pretend to do your homework or something, okay?"
It seems pretty self-explanatory. I feel like I am going to mess this up really bad. I have never attempted improvisation. Well, not seriously anyways. What if he says something funny and I start laughing? Gah! I'll ruin it for the both of us.
"Jin, I'm really nervous," I confront, taking a seat next to him. He smiles and laughs at me. I've never noticed how nice his smile is. He should do it more often.
"Ah, Onji-sii. There's no need to be. Just follow my lead, okay? And I need you to act as though you are actually in that situation and react as if it's really happening," he explains with a cheeky wink. I nod and smile back. He offers me his hand and I take it.
"We should go now, I expect they'll be calling us soon," I say and without letting go of our hands, we set off for the last time.
I have to admit that my heart was racing from the anticipation. I have no idea what Jin is planning, but I hope it is to a good enough standard to pass. I run through the four lines he gave me in my head, but memorising them and not knowing when to say them has now become a problem.
"Onji-ah. Relax please," Jin whines at me.
"What are you talking about? I am totally relaxed," I lie.
"Says the person who's clutching onto my hand for dear life," he laughs glancing at our intertwined fingers. I realise how tight I am gripping his hand and I loosen it slightly. I don't even know why I'm still holding his hand. Can I even let go? His grip is quite strong, but there is no denying that I didn't like it.
Once arriving at the auditorium, I can see how the stage is set up for our performance. There are quite a lot of people doing there examinations in this area so they have limited us to two minutes only.
The stage has a back drop of a typical chalkboard with numbers on it. Around the stage are desks from classrooms and the one nearest the front is mine. It is a simple set up. Is it enough though?
The stage manager informed the examiners that we have arrived and start the scene off stage. It's time to do my best.
"You'll be fine," Jin says with a grin, before walking to the other side of the stage. I can see him through the wings and he looks completely fine, excited even. Meanwhile, I am a complete wreck. You can do this Yeonji!
