[CHAPTER #14]

Seokjin's Point of View

I'm questioning how much money has been spent organising this trip, because we are now boarding a helicopter to fly us to our first location. A fucking helicopter. I'm not complaining, but it all seems so unreal. We're strapped in by the pilot and the three of us, including Saneul, depart for Verona, Italy.

"So your first destination is Casa Di Giulietta, also known as Juliet's Balcony," Saneul explains.

"Why is it so famous?" Yeonji asks. She seems tense. I study her facial expression and read a pained expression on her face.

"It belongs to the Capello family, the family that inspired William Shakespear a famous British Playwright, to right Romeo and Juliet,"

"I remember studying this in literature class, don't you?" I ask Yeonji, hoping to brighten her mood.

"Yeah, I remember. It's the one where they die isn't it?"

"Unfortunately, yes," Saneul confirms. Onji seems really off. Her responses are very negative and she hasn't smiled once. I'm going to have to change that.

After a long hour of short converse, we arrive in Verona and take a taxi to the destination. It's crowded with tourists and locals viewing the small landmark.

Saneul leads us to the viewing points and leaves us.

"You're not joining us?" I ask, sad that I can't enjoy time with my baby cousin.

"I'd love to Oppa, but policy says I'm not allowed," she sulks, "But enjoy anyways and here you'll need this."

She hands Yeonji a brown envelope. It seems quite heavy.

"Don't open it until you've seen the balcony and explored a bit," she bids as she leaves.

I look at Yeonji, but she still doesn't seem happy. I take her free hand and pull her towards the crowd of tourists.

The balcony  is made of stone  and stems from an old building. It isn't extremely eye catching, but I guess the thought and inspiration is what makes it so special. Yeonji is still holding my hand, but doesn't say a word. The silence is killing me.

"You're not happy," I finally speak up making her face me.

"I am what are you talking about?" she says flatly. She doesn't meet my eyes. I pull her chin up with my finger so she is looking at my face directly. I mentally giggle at how short she is.

"What's wrong?" I ask softly. Her eyes soften and she sighs.

"I'm just overwhelmed,"

"Why?"

"Doesn't it seem a bit unreal? Like we're on a vacation that's practically free with romantic destinations for people - aka us - who aren't even a couple!"

"So that's why you're bothered. Because we aren't a couple?" I say starting to get annoyed at her petty excuse.

"Well if you put it that way th-,"

"Do you want to be?" I interrupt. I think I mean what I say, but I also don't.

"What?"

"If it makes you feel better, we can consider ourselves a couple to spare you the awkwardness of this trip," I explain. Why am I doing this? Because I care...

"And then when we get back?"

"We aren't a couple anymore, simple as that."

"Is it okay with you? I think it would help..." She asks looking at me. I smile and nod.
