Tribute to BTS's comeback Trailer 'Serendipty' ft. Jimin <3 I'm actually so in love with this[CHAPTER #21]
Yeonji's Point Of View
It's January now, and we're all back in School. Sigh. As much as I loved taking classes in my greatest talents, I did miss the nights I would spend watching a movie with Jimin, or learning a choreography with Hoseok. It's sad that Christmas and New Year's ended so early.
Right now I'm heading up to the principal's office. No, I don't think I'm in trouble, Miss Chi just told me to go up there when first period starts.
I make my way through the halls and arrive at the office, knocking before being let inside. I see Principal Min sat at his desk with two chairs positioned in front. In one seat there's a police officer looking at me with a stern expression. Shit.
My mind goes blank as I go through all the possible things that could've landed me in this situation. Nothing - I'm innocent.
"Please take a seat Yeonji, you're not in any trouble," the Principal assures with a smile. I take the seat in front of the desk and sit patiently.
Principal Min nods at the police officer and he turns his chair to face where I am sat.
"Now, Miss Chin. I need you to remain calm for what I am about to tell you, and to only speak when I ask you a question. Is that understood?"
"Ne," I answer straightly.
"You are the daughter of Chin Hyungsik and Chin Ara, correct?"
"Yes, Sir."
"From recent events it is understood that your mother, Chin Ara, sent divorce papers to your father's house. Correct?
Wait.. What? Divorce papers? Surely Appa would have said something to me if this happened. I thought their relationship was great.
"I asked you a question, Chin Yeonji," the officer commands strictly.
"I-I don't live with my Appa," I recite in shock.
"Where do you live?"
"I live on my own, in an apartment half a mile away from the school,"
The officer looks towards Principal Min, who hands him what looks like my school records.
"Why do you live alone?"
"My parents are always at work and never here to cook any meals or clean their own house. I moved out and bought my own apartment two years ago,"
Principal Min sighs from where he is sat, mumbling to himself; something that sounded like 'poor child'.
"You are supposed to be your parent's responsibility until you are 18, which you are now so that's sorted. It does however explain the recent happenings with your abeoji,"
I'm worried now. What's happened to my Appa? Where does all this stuff about my parent's divorce come from?
"Your abeoji was found dead in his house yesterday,"
My breath hitches in my throat. Dead. Found dead? No. He has to be lying. Please tell me you're joking...
"After inspection and investigation, we confirmed the death was suicide by drowning in the bathtub. We searched the house and found the signed divorce papers and a handwritten letter addressed to you," the officer says emotionless.
My breaths are uncontrollable. With all the information coming at me like a fast moving vehicle, I couldn't think straight. He can't be dead! HE WOULDN'T DO THIS TO ME.
