Christmas Songs in July

"Oh, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas, we wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year," Jonathan sang, walking around the kitchen early in the morning. Evan glared at him from where he sat, which was at the island counter, a cup of steaming black coffee gripped in his hand.

"Jonathan, it's fucking July. We're literally in the middle of summer. There are five months left until Christmas, not including the rest of July, which still has quite a few days left. Why don't you just shut up and make breakfast?"

Jonathan turned around, a hand on his heart in mock offense. "Baby, that stings," he whined, pouting. Evan raised an eyebrow at the name. Jonathan's smile slipped back onto his face within seconds. "But I'm gonna keep singing." Evan groaned in annoyance. It was 6:00 in the morning. Why couldn't Jonathan just be quiet?

Jonathan didn't sing, but instead hummed. After a few more minutes and a whin from Evan, he turned around to look to his boyfriend.

Jonathan laughed at Evan's exasperated expression, but for the moment he fell silent and continued to make breakfast, knowing Evan would appreciate it.

Evan sighed, taking a sip of coffee as he watched Jonathan move around, humming something different than a Christmas or Holiday song. Evan practically moaned at the smell of the bacon sizzling in the pan.

After a few more minutes, Jonathan turned around with pancakes and bacon on two plates. He handed one over the counter to Evan, mentioning that there was more if he still wanted any. Evan nodded, getting up and refilling his cup coffee.

Jonathan stayed away from singing anything winter-related for the rest of the morning.

Evan cracked open his eyes from where he was laying on the recliner. A few moments ago he had been enjoying a nap in the air conditioned indoors, while Jonathan had decided he was going to go swim in the pool. The TV was playing in the background, and at first, Evan assumed something on it had woken him up, but when he watched it for a moment, he realised nothing that was going on would have been loud enough to stir him from his sleep.

Evan shifted a little, about to close his eyes when he heard Jonathan's voice from the room beside him. For a second Evan thought he was just singing a normal song, something summer-ish, but then he heard the tune of 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' and he felt annoyance bubbling up. Evan huffed and turned the volume up on the TV, able to block out the wintery song being song in the next room. He closed his eyes once more, then decided to open them again when he got interested with the show on TV.

Jonathan came in to join him, but he sat alone on the couch. He had showered, because his hair wasn't slightly stiff light it usually got when it had chlorine in it. Jonathan himself closed his eyes and fell asleep on the couch, earning a smile from Evan. Good. He was going to be quiet, at least for a few minutes.

A few hours later, after one or two more episodes of this show had passed by, Jonathan was awake. Evan glanced at him from where he was on the recliner and saw the small smile appear on Jonathans face. Jonathan pushed himself on the couch and walked over to Evan. He climbed onto the recliner, snuggled up next to Evan, smelling like his body wash.

Evan smiled, pulling the shorter man close to him. Jonathan's face was tucked into the crook of Evan's neck, and they both managed to stay comfortable how they were, pressed together in the small chair. Eventually they both fell asleep, just wrapped up in each other's arms.

Evan would have been fine, perfectly fine, had Jonathan not decided to wake him up, especially by singing in his ear.

Evan grumbled, moving his hand and putting it over Jonathan's mouth. Evan felt the warm wetness of Jonathan's tongue run over his hand, but he didn't move it. At least it muffled him a little, until he started singing louder. Evan let his hand drop when he realized it wasn't going to be doing him any good anyways.

Jonathan laughed lightly, singing louder and louder into Evan's ear. After a few minutes of this, Evan was already so done. He tried to think of a way to stop Jonathan from singing, then a sly smile creeped his way onto his mouth when he thought of one.

In one quick movement, Evan put a hand on the back of Jonathan's head an then one one the side of his face, pushing him so they were facing each other. Evan pulled him in, stopping Jonathan's singing for a kiss. Jonathan tried to pull away until Evan licked his lips. When he did so, he stopped resisted and instead melted into Evan.

With a little bit of hip movement from Evan, Jonathan was a moaning mess, the words of a Christmas song no longer on his lips. Evan laughed, pulling away from Jonathan and pushing him off of the chair. Jonathan fell onto his ass, a whine leaving his mouth and a tightness in his jeans.

"Evan," Jonathan whined, rubbing a hand against his jeans, clearly desperate for another touch.

Evan flipped him off and rolled over, his back to Jonathan. He continued to watch TV.

Jonathan stood up, seeing that the blinds were already shut in the living room. He crawled back onto Evan, making him roll back to where he was before.

     "What?" Evan grumbled, annoyed.

"You can't just leave me like this," Jonathan whined.

"Yeah, and you can't sing winter songs in July."

Jonathan whined.

"Say you owe me one, and I'll help you with your little problem," Evan said, a smirk on his lips. "Or you can take care of it yourself, right now, and you won't owe me anything."

"I owe you one," Jonathan breathed out, breaking faster than Evan expected, attacking his lips.

Evan laughed, pulling away and kissing down Jonathan's neck, biting down on his shoulder. "Yes you do," he breathed.
