Chapter 4

(Maddy's still in the same clothes from the night before, including Jason's jean jacket)

Maddy's POV

I shot up at the sound of my alarm clock going off, I slammed my hand on the clock, trying to shut it off, but I did more than shut it off, I smashed it into pieces. I sat there shocked for a moment, trying to process what's going on. When I looked back at the at my now smashed clock, I saw the white stone, it scared me so bad that I ended up scrambling out of my bed and landing on the floor. I was so confused, there's no way I can be alive, not after last night, I looked at the white stone, I couldn't wrap my head around what was going on. I stood up and went to pick up the stone, I felt a small pain come from my leg. I pulled up to see the familiar gash that I got last night, but how am I still alive, my body is super sore, but I'm alive. I wrapped my hand around the stone, and shuffled out of my room, I sprinted to Kim's room down the hall. I didn't even knock, I just went straight in and made sure to close the door as soon as I entered, when I turned around to face Kim, she was already standing up. "We need to talk, Kimmie" I said, "I Know", was all she said, she wasn't looking at me though, she was looking at something in her hand. I got closer and peered over her shoulder, in her hands was her now crushed phone, "Kimberly!" I yelled, mom and dad definitely weren't going to pay for a new phone.

"I didn't mean to I swear!" she said, "it's all good... I mean I did crush my alarm clock this morning" I laughed, while rubbing the back of my head. "We need to find the others and see if anything strange is happening to them" Kim told me, I nodded and told her I would get changed for school. I went back to my room, and decided to take a shower, I was covered in dirt and mud from last night. I put the stone on the counter, and just looked at my face, I was lucky that there weren't as many cuts as I imagined, I only had two, one on my right cheak, and the other above my right eyebrow. I could try and cover those up with makeup. I noticed that I was wearing a jean jacket the was definitely way too big on me, but then I remembered Jason had given me his jacket earlier last night. I gently took off his jacket and folded it nicely, I would give it back to him at school today, if he showed up. When I went to take off my shirt, what I saw shocked me, I had large bruises forming on my left side near my ribs, I quickly turned around to inspect the rest of my body, and sure enough, I had a couple gashes on my back. I got in the shower quickly, after being in there for a couple minutes I started to cry, I was having a hard time understanding how I'm alive right now,
