Chapter 12

Maddy's POV

When we all met up, Alpha 5 told us to follow him, apparently Zordon wanted him to show us something, it's better than fighting in my opinion. We had to climb down a steep cliff, Alpha 5 started giving us more information on Rita and Goldar, apparently if she can make goldar, then he will be able to rip out the crystal straight from the ground, which is obviously a bad thing. Alpha 5 made it to the bottom first, then Kim, and soon everyone was down there, I climbed last, and Jason was in front of me. Just as Jason got to the bottom, my foot slipped a little on some loose rock, Jason quickly turned around and put his hands up to stop me from falling, even though it wasn't a big fall, I was still grateful. He kept his hands up, and I scooted down some more, "I got you" he said, as he grabbed my waist and helped me down, once on the bottom, I brushed off some dust on my pant leg. "Thanks" I whispered, and leaned up to give him a kiss on the cheek, he turned his face so my lips touched his instead of his cheek, I giggled and broke away, then smacked him in the chest, he chuckled. We didn't know Kim had been standing there the whole time, until we heard her clear her throat, we both turned to face her, both of us blushing slightly. "I'll...uh...I'm just going to catch up to the others" Jason told me, then left quickly, Kim had her arms crossed, and she tried to hide a smile on her face, but failed.

"Shut up" I laughed and walked over to her, "I didn't say anything" she said defensively, we walked in silence for a couple seconds. She stopped walking, as did I, "I'm sorry... I have to ask, you and Jason?" she smiled, "yes, okay, yes... we're kind of an item now" I mumbled under my breathe, hoping she didn't hear, but she did. Kim squealed in delight, and jumped up and down, I grabbed her arms, "okay! Calm down energizer bunny" I laughed, after she finally calmed down, we started walking again. "I'm sorry... it's just, you hated him for so long, I know why, but still. I just don't understand how you could hate someone so much, and now your dating him" she finished. I sighed, "I know it doesn't make sense, but there's just something about him, I don't know what it is, I can't explain it" I couldn't stop the smile from coming onto my face. "So when did you guys become an item?" Kim asked, "earlier today actually, I surprised him at the funeral today, met his family, and then he took me out for lunch at my favorite restaurant" I said, Kim looked like she was about to ask me another question, but stopped, we had caught up to the group.

I heard Alpha 5 mention something like, "it will be like 10 thousand nuclear bombs going washing over Earth", that definitely wasn't good news, "it that supposed to freak us out?" Zack asked, what a dumb question. "You keep making this harder. We're busting our asses, feel free to throw us a bone at some point" Jason said, as we all stood together, Alpha 5 turned to face us, behind him was a small rock wall. "Yes, I see you... busting your asses, so I've decided to give you some inspiration" Alpha 5 said, Billy looked at me and clapped his hands excitedly, Zack ran forward, we all followed. I was second to last up, and when I got to the top, I heard a scuffle, I turned around to see a small cloud of smoke, Trini was the last to climb up, and like me from earlier, her foot slipped on some loose rocks. I got down on my stomach and held out a hand, "need some help?" I asked, she smiled at me gratefully, I see the looks she throws at my sister, but unlike everyone in the group, I'm the only one who's ever tried to befriend her at school. Trini grabbed my hand and I helped pull her up, she made it to the top, and dusted off her pant leg, quietly said 'thanks', then tried to walk away, but I quickly reached out and grabbed her arm. "Hey!" I exclaimed, she turned to face me, "I don't know if your busy tomorrow, but I was wondering if you'd like to grab a coffee or something, as friends?" I asked, she didn't say anything for a second, but then smiled, "ya, I would" she said, I smiled so brightly, "okay, well just remind me to give you my phone number and I'll text you later" I said, Trini only nodded then walked away, I was happy she at least talked to me, even if it was only a couple words.
