Maddy's POV
My dad was currently driving my sister and I to our first Saturday school, which is basically my school's idea of severe punishment, it's kind of a joke really. I planned on getting my homework done during this form of detention, so it isn't really a punishment to me, I'm also going to use this time to work on some of my artwork. It took a couple more minutes, but we finally reached the school, and before my dad could say anything to Kim, she had hopped out of the car and basically sprinted to get away from our dad's 'talk'. "Please make sure your sister behaves herself" my dad told me, "ok" I said, while unbuckling my seatbelt, I got out of the car and closed the door behind me. My dad rolled down the passenger window, "remember Maddy, your mom and I know that you being put in Saturday school isn't fair, considering you did nothing wrong, but remember to use this time to your advantage sweetie" my dad told me, I gave him a smile and nodded, "ok will do, bye dad!" I said while waving, I turned away and started to walk to the school. I noticed a familiar face getting out of a blue truck across the parking lot, it was Jason Scott, the school f-up. I smiled a little at the fact that he was being punished for the stupid prank he tried to pull.
I saw that Jason would reach the school doors at about the same time as me, so I slowed down my pace, took out my phone and started to text some of my friends, I texted Billy who was also in Saturday school, I told him to save me a seat, and he texted back saying he would. Jason was already in the school so I sped up my pace, I opened the doors and continued walking down the long empty hallway. Jason had stopped by the water fountain, and I didn't want him to think that he could start a conversation with me so I sped up my pace, my black heeled boots clicked loudly against to tiled floor. I pretended to be texting as I walked by him, letting him know I was completely ignoring him, he still raised his hand in a waving gesture, acting as if we were friends, but I continued walking. Yes, I know I sound like a bitch right now, but Jason Scott isn't exactly a sweet heart.
*Flashback*
You see, during my freshman year, I hadn't had what you would call a glow-up yet, my sister on the other hand, glowed-up and became the most popular freshman girl. All the boys wanted to date her, and all the girls wanted to be her, I was definitely jealous of her for a little while, but got over it quickly, I found that I actually enjoyed not having all the attention that Kimberly got. I quickly became the teacher's pet, I always sat at the front of the class, I studied hard, always raised my hand when the teacher's asked questions.
One of my best friends Alex who happened to be very popular, was dating Jason's best friends Tyler, Alex decided that it would be a good idea to set me up with Jason, so she asked Tyler to set it up. I was supposed to meet Jason at the local diner for dinner, but I was so nervous and intimidated by Jason that I never showed up. When Alex found out I never showed up to the date, she freaked out on me, it wasn't until later that day that I overheard Jason talking to Tyler. Jason was talking about how he couldn't believe that Alex would think that someone like him could date someone like me. Jason Scott was the all-star athlete, he was the most popular boy in the school, in his Freshman year he made the varsity football team. Jason became the starting quarterback, which was completely unheard of, and too make it better, he helped us win the championship that year. Jason and I were on the complete opposite side of the spectrum, he's popular, I'm not, classic high school bullshit. I continued to listen to Jason Scott basically trash talk me behind my back, so I decided then and there, I hate Jason Scott.
